I recently got two codes to pop up when I did a diagnostic with carly. These codes have come up twice now in the last two weeks and I was hoping someone could shed some light on what they mean. The code that worries me is code 2B59 which it says is the coolant thermostat monitor. I have read that on some cars this means the thermostat is nearing the end of its life. Also, I got code 278A which it says is the ambient temperature. My question about the ambient temperature fault was whether or not its the same sensor as the one that reads the temperature outside and displays on the dash. My dash exterior temperature has never been wrong. Any help would be great!

Thanks,
L
There is a sticky post in this forum that defines the codes and the troubleshooting steps.

You need a new thermostat and pre-cat O2 sensor, most likely. There are DIYs for these fixes, but thermostat is not for the feint of heart.
Thank you so much for that link!
