Selling the e92 M3?

Considering selling the M3. What do you guys think it is worth?

2011 ZCP e92, clean Carfax, 34k miles, 6 speed manual, black oem Y-spoke wheels, silverstone, sunroof, nav, carbon, black leather, M sport exhaust, white angel eyes, black grills, parking sensors, cold weather package, premium package, convenience package, meticulously maintained (oil changes every 5k miles since new), garage kept and never in the rain or bad weather.

I never understood the point of asking random ass online posters what your possession is worth. Why put even an iota of weight in what some stranger on an internet forum deems your car is worth? What qualifies them to make such statements?

Instead, use your critical thinking and analytical skills - they don't even have to be that advanced. Pull up cars.com/Autotrader/eBay and see what similar year and mileage cars are going for, and adjust accordingly for what makes yours "better" or "worse" than them (options, clean history, etc). That easily gives you an accurate assessment of what your vehicle should be asking.

It's incredibly simple.

I agree with what some others have said. This is a little subjective so I would spend some time on the for sale threads and see what's moving and what's not selling based on spec and price.

Other big ticket items like rod bearings and throttle actuators will play a role in sale price, too.

A while back someone created a generalized e9x value calculator. I'm sure you can find it in the forums somewhere. Take it with a grain of salt but after imputing your info, it's suggesting in the $35-36k neighborhood. That's assuming your car really is a 10 out of 10 inside and out and largely factors your low mileage.

No fault here but what some have said is that why ask us like this when you have tons of internet data to compare? We have a skewed view of value. Some of us would lay more for AW vs JB.

At the end of the day it's the market value, not just a small group of enthusiasts.

At least you didn't ask about rod bearings. The advice about looking in the classifieds as a reference was good. Also note how long they have been listed. If you're willing to have it listed for a longer time ask for more. It seems that most listings in the classifieds are higher than the 'I just got an E9x M3' posts. You're close to Cincinnati so you can refer to EAG as they tend to have low mileage examples. (Some claim they are over priced, but they seem to move their cars.)

Who would know better than individuals who own, have recently purchased, or recently sold an M3?

You gonna trust KBB to tell you what your M3 is worth? Prepare to be disappointed.

OP .... I would roughly est 34k - 38k based on my recent research during my m3 search.

This is why I wanted to ask, just because you see them advertised for $xx, you really don't know what they ended up selling for. Figured maybe some in here would have a better idea than what i'm seeing with searches and with KBB, well, I really don't like referencing that with a car like this. And like was mentioned with Enthusiasts Auto around Cinci, they seem to sell them and at a good premium. This has the pricing all over the place with my searching and again, why I wanted to ask you guys.

Members on this forum represent a fraction of a percent of the total owners of these cars at present day. That is hardly an accurate or unbiased source for overall market value nationwide.

OP you really need a flame suit around here these days. I get your post, I have a 2011 E92 6sp will low miles I am considering selling too.

To me, posting here about selling is a bit cathartic and the early stages of letting it go. I have a very similar post in the pricing section.

Check out BAT, KBB, AutoTrader and similar sites and you will figure out the right asking price and adjust accordingly.

I consider enthusiasts forums a good starting point for doing research about any car.

Not sure why some seem offended by the notion.
