Freiheit wroteMy guess is it's this fun little plenum gasket. Seems to be pretty common: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1698102I took mine out for a cruise this weekend. I'm enjoying the last of the humane weather before it turns into humid hell so I'm driving with the windows down. I was afraid that it would affect the leather scent in my car which somehow still smells new 9 years and 22,500 miles later, but it hasn't. All of my previous M3s lost their new car smell pretty quickly.
Thats the good part. The bad(ish) part is that I noticed a faint whine. It sounds like a very quiet Kenne Bell supercharger. (I made sure no Mustangs were following me). At first I thought maybe it was the diff whine some folks complain about. I noticed that it still followed rpm when I was sitting still, so its more likely a vacuum leak. The car isn't running badly.
So, vacuum leak? Some other kind of air leak? Possible... wallet leak?
I think mine is doing the same thing. Just add it to the 'reasons to justify spending $2,000 on an Eventuri plenum' list.
XKxRome0ox wroteEja144 wroteMuch needed wash to get rid of pollen, then took her out for a spin to test out my new homemade headrest camera mount. All was going pretty well until I got a little sideways on a sweeping left highway on-ramp... and it's all on video!! Luckily didn't hit anything and stayed on the road, but I certainly won't be pushing that turn so hard without traction control anymore.
post the video!

I'm a bit wary of incriminating myself, but possibly could share over PM if interested.Eja144 wroteVideo?Much needed wash to get rid of pollen, then took her out for a spin to test out my new homemade headrest camera mount. Wanted to get the baseline down for the car before upgrading. Been hoarding some parts for a year and what better time to install them during quarantine. Took me couple months to install everything and finally ready to hit the road

turbo_joe wroteThose forged wheels look amazing!Over the last month of "stay at home" i decided to get some work done on my track toy. Figured since I couldn't hit the track I might as well modify the car some while its stuck in the garage. Finished up the work this week and took it out for some photos.
Added the following:
- 3M Satin Battle Ship Gray Wrap (ceramic coated)
- Burkhart Engineering GT4 Wing
- Trackspec Motorsports Hood Vents
- APR Performance Carbon Fender Spats
- ApexRaceParts.com Forged EC7-R 18x10.5 front and rear

Having a hard time deciding if I want to go with OE replacement or Bilstein B12s.
Also having a hard time finding out what else I need to replace on top of the suspension. IE; mounts and other hardware

Can you/do you need corner balance if the setup is like camber plate+B12+aftermarket sway bar+adjustable endlink?
just put on a new sets of suspension but not so sure what level of alignment should be done

thing of beauty.
Not today, but oil change, alignment, and finally had the OEM CF spoiler installed, which I had actually picked up before I even bought my car!

Updated nav maps to 2020 version for a 20 hp increase then installed the Alex@Alpine stage 1 - 91 octane tune. I don't think the 91 octane ethanol free fuel I usually use played well well the tune but 93 octane Shell fuel seems to be doing better.
Waiting to get an answer back for scheduling coding.

Ximian wroteWhat's not playing well with the tune? Engine knock? This thing is easily 2-3 times louder than stock in WOT @ >=5k RPMs
Post your own impression...
i wonder how long it will be before we start seeing some used CF plenum for sale
XKxRome0ox wroteThere's already been a couple, problem is the majority of forum sellers think their used stuff is worth 92% of what they paid for it... my rule for anything used is 60% or less of msrp.. less if it's consumable. With something like a carbon plenum might as well wait for a sale and buy new..i wonder how long it will be before we start seeing some used CF plenum for sale
