Things to do after bringing home my first M3

Hi everyone! I'll be picking up my first 2013 E92 M3 with around 65k miles and driving it ~1200 miles home in a week or two.

Just wondering if there's anything specific I should get inspected when I get it home. I know I'll definitely be getting the rod bearings done and an oil change but is there anything else?

Get it inspected before you drive it!

Change all fluids. Check for leaks at the gearbox and diff. Test your alternator to make sure it's in good condition (they usually die around 90k kms). Other than that, enjoy the car!

A very thorough PPI by a knowledgeable shop should be done prior to purchase, let alone driving. Best money you will spend and may save you from buying a problem car. This will also let you know if there is anything that needs to be addressed before that long a drive and the things that can be left till you get home.

Check the tires. I did something similar, didn't check the tires and noticed after 1,000 mile drive home it had a big nail in it. Could have picked it up on the drive home or could have been there already. But hitting 175mph on a open stretch of the 5 fwy on the way home could have been deadly.

Pull the wheels off and check the brakes. Give the wheels a good cleaning before putting them back on.

I wanted to vomit when I took some leather cleaner to my steering wheel the first time after I got home from taking delivery. The yellow microfiber towel turned black and I considered bleaching my hands afterwards
