I've been battling electrical issues with my E70 since inheriting it from my dad. It sat for a period of about 6 months unused before I received it. At that time, it went to his preferred service shop to get a new OEM 90 ah AGM battery, and it was confirmed to be coded.

It ran without issue until this summer the dash lit up like a christmas tree before I was able to pull into a parking lot and shut it off. It did not start again after. I had it towed home and the tow truck driver confirmed the battery was not charging. I put a battery charger on it and was able to start it after the battery charged up, and I picked up a bluetooth ODB reader as well as the BimmerLink app for diagnosis, confirmed no/weak charging.

I checked the resistance from the body post for jump starting in the engine bay to the engine block and found it reading 0.1 ohms. I also checked resistance from that post to the back where the negative cable bolts to the body getting the same result.

I determined either alternator or voltage regulator. I ordered a new alternator (not reman) Valeo 220Amp alternator which came with a new VR. Installed, charging around 14.5-14.9 VDC.

Life was good for some time (about 3 months) before I noticed at idle RPM dropped low and my climate control would shut off. Connected my scanner and found charge voltage in the range of 15.5 - 16.1 VDC. Unplugged my IBS sensor and the charge voltage dropped to 14.8-15.5 VDC and ran it until the new IBS sensor came in, approximately 1 week. During that time, charge voltage was fluctuating at seemingly random times. Cold start would charge 11-12 volts before it would kick in after 20ish mins of driving, reaching 13-14 VDC. Towards the end of that week, the random charging stabilized at 11-12 volts and now no charging at all. Back to my original issue of christmas tree dash, and no charging. New IBS sensor does not solve the issue.

Is my VR cooked again? I don't want to pull the alternator again if its something else that I can look into first. Throughout the process, I had a consistent BSD Message Missing from Generator fault.

I've attached my error codes from two different days just in case there's something there that I'm missing.

Thanks in advance.
