Thinking about getting a moon watch. There seems to be two different varieties. One has the old crystal and a solid back the other has the updated crystal and see through back. What have other people bought and why? There does seem to be a two thousand dollar difference in price between the two but they have the same movement.

The one with Hesalite crystal (plastic) and the solid caseback is the OG version and the one with the Sapphire sandwich is the modern version. Thats as simple as i can put it. I went for the OG version of course but that was like 6 years ago. In fact I am wearing mine today.

One of the best watches on the market and a classic so go for whichever version you like best. Google some pics with different straps etc as this watch is a strap monster.
I have a Hesalite model from '98, I love the look of the crystal while it is susceptible to scratches but can be cleaned with Poly Watch. I understand why others prefer the Sapphire Sandwich, it is nearly scratch proof. I also own a SMP300 White dial with Sapphire and display back plus a Planet Ocean with solid back, there's beauty in all of them so buy what appeals most to you.

Ordered the black sapphire moon watch. I will post pictures once it arrives.
I actually like my reverse panda Speedmaster Racing a lot more than my moonwatch. Winding that thing all the time is such a pain in the ass, and it looks so good you want to wear it all the time.

Found out today that the dealer cancelled my order and refunded my money. Said the watch was damaged (supposedly new and unworn). Wonder if he sold it to someone else for more money. :(

Sounds like a fairy tale to me. 👎🏻

So, you should be first in line for the next one to come to the store. I'd go to Chrono24 and find a comparable one for much less, I've purchased my three Omega watches there and saved a great deal.

Actually it was from ebay and was less than Chrono24’s price.

Sorry, I assumed “dealer” was an OB or AD. There doesn’t seem to be any recourse on eBay, I have bought and sold a great deal on there and it all depends on the other party. I try to only buy from higher feedback sellers, buyers are not something that can be controlled.

I did get my money refunded by eBay. So guess no harm no foul. The seller did have 100% positive feedback.

IIRC, the MSRP of this watch is $8400, how good a price was the seller offering it for?

It's not just the 100% feedback, it's a sheer volume of transactions.

I am sending you a DM.
New white dial moon watch.

I thought some folks here might enjoy a picture of my Seamaster and G29 Z4. I know dive watches don’t typically go with leather straps, but I like how the color combo matches the car. And I’m not going diving with it anytime soon. :D

Just got my first Omega. Decided on the Speedmaster Michael Schumacher edition from 2000! I absolutely love the design and definitely want to cherish this one for a while.

I love the color coordination of the watch's face and leather strap with your Z4's classic colors!
