JMcLellan wroteThat is great! I am slowly getting my 8.5 year old daughter into golf and currently building an out door golf sim on the side of my backyard. I will provide some pictures once done. This was a couple weeks back but this was my setup for the masters. My youngest kiddo is really getting into go golfing which is awesome. We played the simulator for a few hours and made a trip to the driving range last week. I only brought my driver to the range in an attempt to work out some demons. Hit about 60 balls and started to get more comfortable but still have some work to do. I feel good about all my other clubs in the bag. I should be getting out on a real course in two weeks.

I thought I would update everyone on how I went in the BMW Golf Cup qualifier. For those who don't know, it is an adjusted Stableford comp and I was playing off a 24 HCP (WHS). My goal was not to win, but to try and break 100 on a course that my previous best score on was 108.
The short story version was that I got utterly destroyed on the front nine with a 56 but rallied on the back with a 47 to finish with 29 Stableford points and a 103 gross. Considering the winning score was 37 points it goes to show just how difficult the course was playing on the day.
Still, we were well looked after by BMW and I'll be back next year if invited.
EDIT: Probably the highlight of my day was holding the longest drive (temporarily). It was only around 275-280 yards total distance which is above average for me. I was in the 4th of 16 groups to go through so I did not expect to hold it, and indeed at some point I was overtaken. Then later I found out the winner of the ladies closest to the pin competition was in the first group to play that hole!

Happy Monday all! It's the 3rd week of League today... hopefully my partner get his shit together today because last week he got destroyed! But he's a 6 handicap and the guy he went against was a 12 so he was giving him strokes and the 12 handicaper had the round of his life of course...
Week 4 of my company golf league is Wednesday. Looking forward to it.
I picked up a very minty TaylorMade Qi35 5 Wood and got it for a steal. I was debating if I wanted to get it or not but we will see and rock with it for a month or so. If not, I can always resell it and use those funds for what I really want...the new Qi4D 9 wood.

I'm just grinning cause my back issue seems to be gone with the physical therapy. Played Wednesday (had some twinges but pushed through) and Saturday. Got really tired Saturday but no pain.
Might be able to take a harder swing next round.

jamesinaz wroteAwesome to hear! I had some back issues during the off season of baseball after playing in a pickup basketball game, went up for a dunk and came down awkwardly to avoid a defender right below me. Had lower back pain for almost 6 weeks and being a pitcher...that was the worst! Keep up the great work!I'm just grinning cause my back issue seems to be gone with the physical therapy. New x-stiff 5 wood shaft will be delivered today! Wooooooo! The one that is already in there is a stiff, I might hold onto it or sell it. Not sure. Now, just need to get it regripped!
MoeTE87 wroteI played here in September for my retirement party and it was a fantastic course, great customer service also!Played at Gaylord Springs Golf Links this past Friday. My daughter was on Spring Break for the week and so we sneaked away as a family to Nashville, TN and stayed at the Grand Ole Opry Report which was nice.
Velvet Fog wroteGuy is hitting a lob wedge 151 yards? Not fair.Picked up a flightscope mevo gen 2 for my learing center. Getting the phone and PC apps set up for practice was easy Still trying to get the E6 course simulator integration working.
Glad I’m able to fit my bag in the truck. I do have to take my driver out but I keep forgetting to lean the back seat forward now that I think of it. I’m usually too 🍃
Glad I upgraded from a M340i to an X5. So much easier putting my clubs in the trunk. A lot more room for my shoes and cooler.
Playing Monday at a new course to me. Looking forward to heading out there. However, weather is looking to be pretty warm...pushing upper 80s.

MoeTE87 wroteOpposite for me - went X5 to new M5 and struggling. Trolley needs to be laid down (folded) and one back seat down for clubs. Clubs on their own, just ok.Glad I upgraded from a M340i to an X5. So much easier putting my clubs in the trunk. A lot more room for my shoes and cooler.

. I can fit 2 of my golf buddies, our bags and push carts in my M3 Touring. It took a bit of Tetris to figure out the optimal stowage plan, but it works!
Straykiwi wroteNot a touring sort of bloke to be fair, but yes, more suited to the game!Should have bought a Touring. I can fit 2 of my golf buddies, our bags and push carts in my M3 Touring. It took a bit of Tetris to figure out the optimal stowage plan, but it works!
Played yesterday and did okay. Driver was hit or miss. Plus it was very windy and hot so by the time we were starting the back 9, it was gross out. I was exhausted after the round.
Greens were fast and some of my chipping was very crappy. Will need to practice more. My outdoor golf sim is almost done so I will be able to hit the ball and practice everyday.
I play again Wednesday in my work golf league...fingers crossed for a better outcome!

The more you practice the luckier you get or something like that.
Shot a new personal best at my home course. Got off to a hot start and my putter did a lot of work the whole round. My driving was great, my long irons need to get better.

Tennis elbow. Only cure is rest and ice. I've had it before.
Velvet Fog wroteSame thing happened to me last fall. I was clearing out very long bamboo from my back yard (20+ feet tall) and there were hundreds of them. I was doing the same motion and trying to man handle them and put them in piles. Same repetitive motion over and over for months, I slowly started developing tennis elbow and after the winter time, it went away.Tennis elbow. Only cure is rest and ice. I've had it before.
My brother in law currently has it and it sounds like he is on the tail end of it. Which is good news because we are playing in 2 weeks in Captiva Island, FL for two rounds of golf!
Get better quickly!
Im back. Still a little pain but getting better every day.
Should be able to manage 2 rounds per week.
