I haven't played a round in 10 years and tweaked my back midway through it, but I'm retiring in March and plan to start playing again occasionally.
My current set is 30 years old, so I decided I'm going to get some new ones more appropriate for a 65-year-old in preparation.
I'm on the cheap side so I had narrowed the irons down to a set of Tour Edge Hot Launch Max D Ironwoods or Cleveland Halo XLs. I was leaning towards the Tour Edge as they were generally a good $100-150 cheaper, but then I found the Cleveland’s on of all places on Amazon for a really good price and ordered a set today.
Next step will be a new higher loft driver to replace my ancient Taylor Made Burner Bubble. I've got a good local family owned Ski & Golf place that I'll plan on visiting to get some help on selecting this though
I’ll probably pick up a new 5 wood as well, as it will be the only steel shaft club I'll have with the new set.
I'm going to need to start a stretching regimen before hitting the course or even the driving range, as my muscles are horrendously tight!
