Armrest/centre console repair

Wondering if anyone has done this repair and can share what they did. In simple terms it looks like repeated opening of the arm rest has damaged the surface of the centre console where the button is.

Will this just need a leather touch up pen ( I believe the material is leather) or something else? Or maybe I just need to treat the whole section for the best result? I'd obviously like it to blend in as best as possible.

i think just replacing the whole piece will make you happier than having a section not bend. go suede!!

I haven't done it myself but leatherique has BMW leather dyes. There are quite a few people who have done complete color changes using these and similar brands.
