I was just at a dinner party and I ask if the Flock Cameras bother them and all 6 present didn't even know what they were and after I described them, they all nad no problem with the police using them.

Give people a badge, gun & a little bit of power, most are poorly educated & it just makes it easier for them to abuse their power.

One of the reasons all my vehicles have dash cams, a few years back my wife got pulled over in Plano, TX, for turning left into a shopping center parking lot on green with flashing yellow turn arrow.

She didn't cut anyone off, no oncoming traffic, etc. Officer walks up and asks for her license & insurance. Tells her he pulled her over for an unsafe left turn. Starts with the where are you going, where are you coming from nonsense.

Walks back to his car for a little bit, comes back and says "looks like you've got quite a past record (3 speeding tickets in 20 years, the most recent 7 years ago), maybe I should do something about that unless you can convince me otherwise".

She's not one to F with, but she let's him know her dash cam is running. He goes back to his car, gets on his loud speaker and orders her out of her car and back to his car. She complied, and told him she also has a rear dash cam, and they record audio as well. He hands her license back & tells her he better never see her around there again - she worked at the hospital literally 100 yrds away.

She was frantic & called me immediately. We filed a complaint with the Plano PD, but she didn't get his name. Not surprisingly there was no record of her being stopped that afternoon.

I can only imagine what these types of cops are doing with all this camera data.

That's old news over here in Belgium . We are caged in our own cars (!)
Trajectory controls are the worst . You just don't know when you get caught,but you will know when you open your mailbox and you see 3-4 fines.
But you can fix it like this.. (!)

Unless they change the wording to more broadly ban surveillance devices in general then they are likely just banning Flock as a company because of a financial deal with another entity.

I called an appliance repair place today. I got an AI woman to take information. I hung up. I called a local family who is in business for 55 years. I talked to a human.

One of the best guys on data centers is young Ed Zitron on X and youtube. He goes on CNBC, which I do not watch, and tells the cheerleaders on there that it is a scam. The numbers do not add up. He thinks the whole AI Data center bubble will burst soon.

This whole circular financing and buying tech from each other happened before the dot com bust. If you were to get funded by VC's in Silicon Valley back in 1999 or so - you must use the money to buy Oracle database, Lucent phone switches, Sun servers, Cicso routers, T1 fiberoptic internet from Worldcom, etc.

These startups would waste all their on hardware and software run out of money and the VC's would take it over.

Supposedly, you can get a desktop or small server for under $5,000 and run AI models and do most of what you need. It can even run not connected to the net. It would probably be cheaper but RAM prices are up a lot.

I think there is a free open source Chinese AI model that people can download and use for free. Some people are claiming we have to spend literally trillions on AI Data centers to keep up with China.

The scary thing is if your 401K, IRA, pension plan is heavily invested in even the S&P 500 your money is being used to fund AI.

These big tech companies are using off balance sheet debt financing to pay for these giant albatross data centers. This is exactly what Enron did. It is a method to hide the debt. It really deceives the shareholders.

sadly that's my wife. I have just been ranting about the BS potentially coming to Australia, and her response was exactly that. I love her for her simplicity, but some days I do wonder.

The old adage, "If it's free then you are the product" Daily physical tracking plus the email and online tracking should produce a lot of information to sell. I knew there was a problem when Google took "Don't be Evil" out of their mission statement.
