I have a white M3, 1,5 years and which has now 40'000km.

I usually change my car each 2 years (leasing), and so, i need to choose quickly the next one.

M3 is still on my list, but if i had to order a new one, all the options and colors would be the same .... i won't have the feeling to change my car.

Another option is to take a Melbourne Red, but i have never seen this color in real life, only on internet.

Last time, i have been to the nurburgring, and there was 2 'red' M3 .... i'm really disapointed, as this color does not look at all as on all the pictures seen on internet.

Is it MB ? if not, what color is it ?
My picture does match perfectly the real color i have seen, no modification.

That is definetly not MB.......:confused2
Yes, i like MB, as on your last link.

But so .... what were those 2 M3's ? this red is not referenced anywhere, even in the individual colors.

It's either Indianapolis Red or Barbera Red. Like I said Indianapolis Red is an M6 color that should be available via Individual. Barbera Red is a standard 3 series color.

Best regards,
south
I wouldn't buy it but it's kinda cool.
Wow that dark red M3 looks great. I think that's got to be Indianapolis. Barbera is more "wine" colored while Indianapolis is more "cherry" colored, and I think it looks more like the latter. At least IMHO.

Either way that is really nice, especially with the gun metal stock 18s. And very unique.
My first reaction was that it was Ruby Red, currently available as an individual color, but i think South is right about it being Indianap.

Ruby, for reference:

Also, could be Chiaretto red (sp?)

Yeah, I still think it is Indianapolis. That Chiaretto Red looks more brownish-red, a lot like Barrique Red from the pre-335i E90/E91. And the Ruby Red looks almost like a traditional Candy Apple Red. I actually like that color a lot too - that'd probably look great on an E92 M3 as well.
it's maybe Mora Violett Individual
thats a pretty sweet color.
Looks like Barney Purple :confused2
Thats a nice color.
I like the first pic but the second..not so much!

Unique color for an m3 though.
Looks like a candy apple red. I like it.
look like indiana on the m6. much classier color than any other red IMO.

Haha, def. not.... trust me!
I'm saying that this is Barbera Red. Indianapolis red has more of a shimmery bronze color to it.

Wouldn't both of these colors be available via Individual?

To finally answer the original question posed back in 2009, the car at the top is finished in Ruby Red 2, and its the only LHD E92 M3 to be made in that colour. There was also 1 x RHD E92 M3 made in this colour, but that sadly was written off in 2016.

Note: No European LHD E92 M3s were made in Indianapolis Red, though there was 1 x North America LHD.
