Approx 4k miles on fresh bearings. Still some solids floating around since this was the first oil change. These readings are better than brand new. You cant see that data, but even in 2012 readings were worse. Heres to a clean motor!
Very interesting history there. Lots of spikes in different metals that went away.

Keep us posted on how things stabilize after another change with those new bearings.

Personally at almost 150k, I think it's amazing you've made it this far! I'd do the bearings just for peace of mind at this point.

But as mentioned, 1 sample doesn't give a solid comparison.

I am doing the rod bearings for piece of mind. Can't hurt right? Also with the actuators and rod bearings changed it's good for resale value. But I'll be testing the oil that comes out and comparing to my previous oil change. Not like it will matter but the sake of my youtube channel I can show two oil analysis back to back.
If your original bearings made it 150k miles why switch? You've obviously got a good engine. It's not like there is a high chance that they're going to start wearing hard and spin after going 150k without issue.

Being proactive man. My oil analysis looks like crap. CIM Motorsports drove my car and says he sees no sign of any damage going on in the engine. He did say it felt underpowered but he equated that to the O2 sensor module (need to research more on this). But I want my car to last to 300k miles. A little TLC now can make the car go a long ways I think.
Sorry brainfart, didn't realize that was your oil report with 27ppm lead. Even commented on it. Getting old. I'd definitely change them out.

All good....im.getting old myself. I can't remember what I wore yesterday. Haha!
Picked up an '09 E92 M3 6mt with only 13.5K miles on it back in September.
Promptly changed oil, went with Liqui Moly 10W60.

Put 4500 miles on it since.

Get a few more reports under your belt to establish a trend.

I would also suggest paying for TBN & TAN next time ($10 each) so you can establish a good change interval.

Have you ever looked at Xado oil. Not the additive there 10w-60 oil. Looks like it might be an alternative.

A quick glance at the website doesn't impress me. API SL means it's an old formulation. TWS and the BMW oil are API SN, two generations newer. The marketing lingo hints at nanotechnology which a few boutique blenders are using (Millers comes to mind).

I'm sure it's fine to use, but I wouldn't pay a premium for it when you can get one of a dozen other more modern 10w60s for the same or less money.

At 100k+ on mine, this is kind of my mentality about it.

Hope it doesn't prove foolish! I would like to see some stats on failures on engines with 6-figure miles.

Looks like I'll be sticking with LM or I might try the new BMW stuff
I had installed BE bearings last year in our M3 and have just passed 7000 miles on thejob and did its first oil change last week. Engine is strong. Consumed less than 1qt over those miles. TBN are also strong after 7k.

Call Blackstone and see if they can run the TAN for you, too. TBN and TAN together is a very useful metric.

Pay for TBN+TAN next time. It's a great way to figure out the appropriate change interval.
Pretty Happy with my lead levels this go around. They went drom 15PPM to 3PPM. I cannot think of anything I'm doing differently so have them numbers drop but going to continue with 0w40 as that is what I ran last.

I assume you do lots of highway miles, which isn't hard on the oil (as you can see).
