So I've heard, unfortunately I'm the kind of person that has to learn by doing. On the bright side I've also been told one of my happiest days is still ahead of me so I guess I got that going for me!

I was going to mention that but chose the highroad, my father owned a few boats and I learned that lesson from him. Enjoy

I owned a Cayenne so I feel I've kinda experienced that already.

Never saw myself owning a boat, but we moved to an area that's very boating centric and the community itself has a boat ramp so it's literally 0.5 miles from my house to the ramp. My main criteria picking a boat was making sure it fit in the garage.

We'll see how long my boating life lasts. My Porsche life lasted 3 years.

I've been (very remotely) considering picking up a used Macan S. Wife is in favor (but then again, she drives a Boxster S).

Not much in the small SUV space interests me, but not sure I want to drop ~$60k on a used SUV that'll live outdoors.

It was fine we liked it, didn’t like it enough to pay the Porsche tax. Dealers wanted $500-600 for oil changes, Indy shop was still like $300. Everything was ridiculously priced, service was not great, rarely had loaners, would order me an uber (probably more dealer dependent than Porsche in general). Brakes were like $3k per axel. There was some component which I can’t remember right now that seemed to go bad every like 40k miles or so and was also quite pricey.

Anyways reminds me of the boat saying as I was quite happy when I bought it but even happier when I sold it before replacing the brakes and several other things that I felt were about to go out.

Now if you do maintenance yourself or you are ok with the Porsche tax or have a good cheap Indy then it’s a fine car.

My Dad had a boat that got used quite often for a few years, but then less and less. He paid around $2500 per season for insurance and the dock fee. The last year he had it, it got used 10 times. My Dad figured none of those excursions were worth $250, so the boat went on the market. That was in the late 80's and early 90's when $250 wasn't pocket change.

If I had to pay to store it forget about it! First most boat storage places and marinas around here are full. If you do happen to get a spot its going to be $$$$. My friend in Miami cannot find anything open in Miami that isn't like $1000/mo and even storing it an hour north of him it's still like $600-$700/mo.

Finally picked up an Electric Pressure Washer since I had to pressure wash our retaining wall. I also secretly got it to make car washing easier and more fun.

Opted for the Ryobi automotive version that wasn’t too expensive.

Probably just for the next 12 months.

A week ago, I cancelled my already reduced monthly suscription ($12 instead of $25) and yesterday Lo and Behold got a new offer at $6 a month.

Looking forward for next year @ $3 a month..

I have it for $6 a month in all my cars. I’ll cancel if it’s anymore than this. Not worth it otherwise.

Got it in my car for $6 for 3 years & $3 for 3 years in my wife's car. I can't wait to see what the offer will be for my car when next it expires. I'm going to push for the same $3!

I have had SiriusXM in all of my cars since inception. I literally can't tolerate FM Radio. So repetitive, today's music is trash and it's essentially non stop advertisements.

I always get whatever the best deal they offer over and over. ✅

Another car for a family member. Brand New 2026 Jetta for our niece. Paid for and will get her through med school.

Well, I kinda always wanted a Telecaster. Decided it might as well match the color scheme of my Stratacaster and better than Gibson Les Paul.

Last year, I ordered a watch roll from a Ukrainian seller and then found they worked well with the growing knife collection. The second roll arrived and now I'm thinking about one of her messenger bags.
