the install was done perfectly fine. the bolt broke before the install too and the problem was still there. when driving in six gear and releaseing the pedal there was alot of reverse torque that made the car bulge. The dealer said that the spring did not cause the problem, they clearly stated that abuse was the main factor and the pathetic excuse was "OVERREVING" when they havent given me anything in writing yet.
was the original bolt replaced by the dealer? if so, that might lend to the argument that it's a defect and should be covered under warranty. if not, it'll be another strike against your claim that non-bmw authorized work contributed to the failure.

We have a winner . If you haven't experienced axle hop (yeah, I know you wouldn't admit it here ), probably a bad installation job. Man, I've read several just this week alone.

Heavy a$$ bolts and subframes don't just break for no reason... you just have to find it :D. Or BMW personnel will find it for you, unfortunately. Good luck man, and keep us posted.
ding ding ding!!! Jackpot! I know there more to the story, subframes just dont break for no reason. I had imports all my life and had them slammed to the floor at certain points in their lifespan and would bottom out and still no broken subframes. So either you or someone else did something to your car that they aint admitting
the bolt was replace by bmw and only 100 miles after the bolt broke and the subframes didnt break but was damage because of the bolt. When the bolt broke. it ripped all the treads out and made the hole that holds a oval which is connected to the subframe so the dealer has to replace the subframe also
So what is going on with this? Is your car still out of commission and the dealer still saying they wont do anything about it?

How much is the bill again?

They still haven't given you anything in writing? Did they void your warranty?

What did BMWNA say?

PLUS JUAN, I would also like to know this aswell:popcorn:
so

1) the bolt broke
2) bmw dealer replaced it
3) 100 miles later [insert what happened - can't tell from your description]

From my last visit the dealership said they would look into my letter and give me everything in writing. Its been two weeks and i havent heard anything from them. The service manager told me last time on the phone that it will cost around 6 to 7 thousand and shockingly told me that my best bet is to go through insurance and say you hit a pothole or something. I contact BMWNA two weeks ago and they said they will send out a complaint to them
its kinda clear that if life isnt fair, I wouldnt be puting this issue on the forums. Its more to aware and get advice from fellor m3 member but thanx for you insight wallstreet you taught me something that i already knew about. This is more post is more open to get responses from member on what they think of the insight. My car is sitting there and if they think im going to peel out 7000 worth of repair on a car i purchased from them 2 months sound ridic
perhaps the bolt was over torqued? it does happen you know ... someone uses the wrong torque value or miss-interpeds the torque wrench setting. You can always ask for the bolts and have them analysed (or just ask them for the original bolts and tell them you WILL have them analysed - it might just change there mind in trying to screw you) then as some one here said sue them :)

What's clear is that you should secure professional representation. Your language and grammar skills are sub-par to seriously get you out of this predicament.
its been a month and i havent had anything in writing yet or any type of evidence showing the abuse. My sister went in on friday because i was at work and they told her to call BMWNA because they cant do anything about it
Yeesh, Good luck OP. I hope you get them to fix the issue. This sounds like my E46 M3 problem which was past warranty when it happened...but I did drive/mod the shit outta it. Funny enough, my tuned 335i hasn't given me any problems (other than occasional wheel squeal) @ 60kmiles vs. my e46 M3 @ 60k miles.

Why would you leave your car sitting there for a month after they said they wouldn't repair it, I'm not getting it?

+1 ...

Dude, get a lawyer to write them a letter. After not getting a response start legal action. If you win, you get your car back and some money for the loss of use, if you lose (which I doubt, BMWNA will step in once named on the action) you pay both lawyers 2.5K for their work and plus the work for your car.

As a matter of fact, PM me your Vehicle Info, Your info and the Dealer Info. I will draft the letter for you, I am not representing that the letter will work, but its the first step you have to take. You have been sitting on this situation for far too long:mad0260:.

Just an FYI, never admit that you've taken your car up to the red-line, especially when that car is a MT. The dealers never want to deny a Warranty repair (almost never), it's guaranteed $$ for them, you or someone screwed this situation up and it has to be handled with care from here on out.
Keep us updated on this issue. Its been 2 months man you need to get your car back. Get a lawyer or take it to another dealership or keep calling BMW NA. Good Luck.

They want me to call BMWNA and get approval from them and there telling me they cant do anything about the situation.
Wow...2 months! :confused2 Must not be that important. I would've been down to that dearship everyday before or after work to "follow up" the sh*t out of the dealership. You keep posting that the dealership told you to contact BMWNA....any status? I would send an email everyday to check if I were you....not sit and wait. Dealership probably has contact info of someone you can call. Have you asked?
