drop dead gorgeous!
Rakus wroteSo you CAN do a KW Sleeve kit with EDC?I was thinking of the KW sleeve kit as well. I have same color exterior with black interior with 19" GTS wheels black OEM.
With KW Sleeve kit would I be able to have the fenders sit right on top of tire look versus the rear tire tucked??Which I'm not a fan of also. Also how is the ride maintaining with EDC?
Makingitsomeday wroteExactly my thoughts too!drop dead gorgeous!
WSYF10M5 wroteThe ride feel pretty much the same. The KW kit uses a Progressive Spring. That basically means the harder the suspension is compressed the more the shock will be required to absorb. If you hit a small bump, it should feel much like stock. If you hit something large, the shock is going to absorb more of the impact. I believe the stock springs are progressive. More comfortable. I think the Ground Control and TC Kline use linear springs. These would have an equal, more predictable impact on all bumps. Although this could be a little less comfortable.Looks Perfect! How is the ride comfort/quality of the sleeve kit? Were you on stock suspension prior to this? How does it compare? thanks!
bbs_lm wroteThat's 17lbs. in total. The rear are 23lbs and fronts are 21lbs.wow, looks amazing..
17lbs is pretty light...
Rakus wroteYou would be able to set sleeve kit above stock height all the way to where I have it. So the answer is yes. You just can't get super low.I was thinking of the KW sleeve kit as well. I have same color exterior with black interior with 19" GTS wheels black OEM.

Stronie wroteThanks! The answer is yes. The idea behind the kit is that you remove the stock springs, perches, and a few other ancillary parts and replace with a new "sleeve" that goes over the stock shock with new springs. The sleeve is threaded like a bolt and nut, so you can adjust the height by changing how high or low the spring sits. You keep the stock shock, so you are able to retain the EDC function. KW, Ground Control, and TC Kline all make kits that retain EDC function. The KW is the most basic and was super easy to install. So you CAN do a KW Sleeve kit with EDC?
By the way, Perfectly done drop and wheel combo, Great Job.
Bubajay wroteSee above. With a full coilover (replacement of entire shock and spring assembly) you will lose EDC function. You then have to trick the car's computer into thinking you still have the stock shocks. KW make an EDC delete module that allows you to eliminate an error code. For pure performance or if you want to go really low, this is what you need to do. I just wanted to lower the car a bit, so I chose the sleeve kit. I chose KW because the TC Kline was about $600 more than KW. TC allows you to select your springs rates and comes with new upper mounts and camber plates. I didn't need all of the customization and adjust ability, so TC was out. I didn't want to do GC because I've had GC on some of my other cars, and they made all kinds of crunching and crackling sounds that I didn't want to hear. I've read the E9X kits are no different.Just curious, you can still use the factory "EDC" settings correct? I heard with coilovers and other you cannot, but maybe I am just misinformed. Also, how is the ride with the new sleeve kit? It looks absolutely gorgeous though, no doubt about it, and the Klassen M52s look beautiful. The whole setup...omg...
E30_80Y wroteI was able to take the lip off before it blew off the car. The guys from Challenge called me personally and gave me some tips on how to install it differently. It's been fine since!Looks stunning! by the way, did you buy a new lip after that track day horror? or did you pick it up and got it fixed?
Money2536 wroteI have seen it all the way down in the front and still is conservative IMO for me and my tastes. There is about another 1/8" of additional drop available in the front. The rear is as low as it goes.

Sedan_Clan wroteFRONT - 22 LBS @ 20X9.0 ET 17Nice car....
...BUT the wheels aren't as light as you think. The 19" versions are 21.8 lbs. for the front and the rear wheels are 24 lbs. That's without tires! The ZCP's are 26 lbs. for the front and 26.8 lbs. for the rear. Actual savings are more like 7 lbs.
