I was driving last night and while switching from 2nd to 3rd I heard a small pop and then tons of white smoke out the exhaust and from the hood. Pulled over and tons of fluid started leaking out. Car does not start, I was on the side of the road for 2 hour before a tow truck came and the engine had a boiling sound coming from it the whole time.

Did you crack the oil pan or loss a drain plug bolt? Hope all is okay with the car
Judging by the age of your car, you should still be under warranty right? Good luck and keep us posted. That's scary right there

My worst fear with the rod bearing issue that seems to pop up occasionally with the '08s (I realize your is '11)
I'm curious to see what you discover. I will be watching the thread closely.

SAM///M3 wroteMeh, who cares, as long as the OP is under warranty, he will be fine. They will probably just give him a new engine . . .My worst fear with the rod bearing issue that seems to pop up occasionally with the '08s (I realize your is '11)

Brooklyn Mark wrotedo they want the car before you get the new one?Yea I hope so, first I need to get all my stock parts together...
UCBPhD wroteI've been considering replacing my rod bearings as preventive maintenance (I have extended warranty). If its found that this may have been a part of the issue, it could push me to do it before I find myself waiting for a tow truck.Meh, who cares, as long as the OP is under warranty, he will be fine. Thankfully, he has warranty though.
Could just be a line to the oil cooler?
UCBPhD wrotewith a ESS VT2?...lolMeh, who cares, as long as the OP is under warranty, he will be fine.
mdosu wrotethis. I just read OP sig. Might not help w/ getting repairs covered. Good luck OP. Looks like a big hole somewhere!with a ESS VT2?...lol
B-52Gunner wroteoff topic, so during your stint in the B-52H if the ECM operator drove you nuts, would you joke that you wish the gunner still had a seat in the back?Could just be a line to the oil cooler?
mdosu wroteHeh, missed that, that could be a problem . . .with a ESS VT2?...lol
Ouch.. Let us know what it is..
Good luck, that doesn't sound good.
I'm torn on replacing my bearings or not. The car never fails to deliver. Hard to justify opening up something perfect.

More reasons for me to renew my recently expired warranty
MDOSU FTW!!!

Mike Benvo wrotePreventative maintenance? Can we line up 20 or more cars and do a dis/assembly line? Everyone can pitch in at a different stage of the process and get it done cheaply for as many as possible. And tune them all at the same time.Ouch.. Let us know what it is..

rngrjag wrotewell OP said he will be returning it to stock...but just saying, he shouldn't show up at the shop with the ESS kit on the block, they'll see it and then spit their Sprite out when asked for warranty work.MDOSU FTW!!!(warranty with supercharger!)
