go for challenge ..
Here is mine with the Sosi X-pipe with Arqray axle back. 2ndary and resonator delete. Pretty much no drone with that combo. The sosi is a nice piece, and cheapest on the market at about $500.00.

Screw the emissions and stuff.
I am using IPE catback and I am curious about if I should go with IPE F1 x pipe or Challenge Race + ?

Or just go ksG?
Akrap Gt4 gets my vote
yeah but akra gt4 x pipe costs 2 arms 2 legs and a brain :)
i only want sound! :)
I recently spent a couple of weeks contemplating your same situation. The bottom line is that any x-pipe that removes the primary/secondary cats is the most bang for your buck, but with consequences. I chose the x-pipe configuration because upon smog check I can simply bolt-on the OEM pipe.
I recently installed the Gintani x-pipe and the gains were VERY apparent; however, combined with my MPE the sound is extremely loud and raspy as hell even with four resonators. I also like how much lighter this x-pipe is compared to stock, and I did have the O2 sensors bypassed. I am told that Gintani places the "x" exactly where it should be, but I"m no exhaust expert.
You must also be prepared to handle the smell of a catless system which realy isn't all that bad, but it is there. I do not get any drone, but do get lots of rasp and under heavy acceleration or downshifts my car makes people "jerk" with surprise. It seems that I went from a mean growling beast of a machine to an outright hellion of a screaming race car. If you have a fam that rides in the car I wouldn't suggest it at all unless they are all gear heads, lol!
I have heard that this x-pipe paried with the OEM exhaust is much more "tame" and sounds good. I will find out 1 Dec at the next track event as a friend of mine has this configuration, and this time I will pay much more attention to his sound.
Looks like I'll be selling my MPE soon, but oh well. I simply loved how it sounded with the stock x-pipe, but the HP gains are awesome and I'm not going back to a full stock system.
Best of luck to you.
anyone running the Challenge race pipe with Megan axle back?

I have encore innovation xpipe with hfc and I've had Aa pipe with hfc. The EI is way louder and higher pitched. Both I had stock rear muffler. I'm not sure how one xpipe can be so much louder but of course I ended up keeping louder one:) maybe the pipes are thinner ?
Delete the cats to really get the power. If you don't mind working on your car and have the tools just put your stock one back on for emissions tests. I have a catless Fabspeed x-pipe with Gintani muffler. Love the sound and power but drone is bad.
Hi,

Our X pipe was designed and engineered to work with most after-market exhaust systems/mufflers on the market today without the need to cut, weld or modify anything. Our system also eliminates the secondary cats and the primary cats to unleash the maximum amount of hp while still maintaining a great tone.

Dramatic weight savings are also gained when one compares the factory system at 40 lbs and the Active Autowerke Signature X Pipe weighting at a mere 25 lbs.

If you have any further questions please let me know.

DLSJ5's VT3-725 Supercharged beast strapped to the dyno. Best run was almost 700whp equipped with a Macht Schnell Race X-Pipe and OEM muffler.

DLSJ5's M3 also just claimed the 1/4mi M3 Trap Speed record @ Famoso with 10.81 @ 135.x.

Quite recently. DLSJ5 has been quietly testing for some time as he's excellent at gathering data and real world feedback.

so if you keep the primary cats and remove the secondary cats and res how much louder is the the exhaust w/ a aftermarket section 3? in your opinion is it a clean sound?

With a sport or one of the quieter rear sections it is not bad. Imo any rear that has a straight through design like the mpe it is bad raspy. Even the oem mod sounds terrible with a altered x pipe.

It increases volume but not by a giant amount. If you do test pipes (which IMO is the way the go with these cars, mostly because of big power gains), then the volume goes way up regardless of what muffler you have.
