What do you dislike about your e90?

I'm still trying to decide whether or not I want to look for a sedan or a coupe. I've always owned coupes and I don't have a genuine need for a sedan but it might be fun to change.

I'd love to hear from anyone who currently has a sedan or has previously owned a sedan, on the things that they disliked about the car.

I don't really need to hear subjective opinions on why the coupe is better or worse. Just what could be better with the sedan (I have an e92 335, I know the downsides of a coupe).

In the sedan? Really? I am 6'3" and have plenty of leg room in my driver's seat...

As for my view of the sedan, it is really a question of practicality. I have growing boys (14 and 13) with the oldest being 5'11" already. Getting in and out of the back seat was one reason for me though the coupe really isn't that difficult. I also take friends out quite a bit so for the space I went with the sedan. If recall correctly the coupe actually has a little more leg room in the back seat but having my 50 year old friends and business associates climbing into the back seat of a coupe was not really something I wanted to deal with.

Ultimately this is a personal decision. Some like the styling of the coupe over the sedan, others like me prefer the sedan. If you plan to be a regular user of the back seats, the sedan might be the best choice for you...

The wheelbase is identical between the E92 and E90.

There is a massive amount of leg room in the front of an E90. I'm only a bit over 6'2", and the seat will go far further back than I can fathom.

As I recall, the wheel base on the E90 is something like an inch shorter than the E92 but in the grand scheme of seating it really makes no difference. There is plenty of front seat leg room. Those seated in the back in both the E90 and the E92 are a bit cramped but it is serviceable...

The e90 handles better than the e92/e93

There is nothing that I don't like in it over the coupe. My last car was a E46 M3 and for the time I had it, it suited my lifestyle perfectly. But now at this stage in my life with a family, etc the E90 is perfectly suited to my needs. It all depends on what you like/want. Personally, I love the fact that it flies under the radar and I can take a few friends around in it as well.

The wheelbase is the same but the sedan is shorter in the rear.

That being said i have nothing bad to say about having a sedan (vs a coupe). Maybe no cf roof.

They are the same chassis mate, however the E90 (back) body is slightly shorter and I believe a tad wider.

I wish the sedan had the carbon roof. That's it.

Wasnt troll enough. Lol.

The only thing I've found that I don't like has nothing to do with the fact that it's a sedan. My E90's rear seats don't fold down (heated seats but no cold weather package) and there have been trips to the Depot where that would have been really handy.

Luckily mine do and it is handy as hell Frickin' BMW should have made these standard but as everything it is A La Carte:mad0260:

Biggest thing for me was I wanted to mod with used parts when I had my E90 but everything cool is for an E92. Esp in the used market.

Troll Level: Novice

Let me turn the question around. Why would you want an E92 over an E90? The E92 is not even a real coupe. It's basically an E90 sedan with the rear doors deleted. You get the downsides of the sedan in terms of size and weight, without the benefits of the sedan in terms of practicality and space for cargo and people. If you want a coupe, get something designed as a coupe, like a 911 or Vette. For an M3 the sedan is the better choice. It's the least common body type for the M3, it usually is a bit cheaper than the coupe, it is definitely far more practical, and the best part of all is that it's just as fast as the coupe. The E90 is the logical choice.

Um, all parts are identical between the sedan and coupe. Everything is the same. The only difference is the exhaust, because the tips on the sedan are a bit shorter than the coupe because the coupe's rear bumper is a bit longer.

Not totally true. Rear bumpers are different (if you are looking for a rear diffuser), door sills are different, side gills and I think front grill are different... There are a lot of common parts but in some areas there are differences.

Oh I thought you meant mechanical parts like engine parts, intake, suspension, brakes, exhaust, etc. These are what I meant were identical between both cars.

No CF roof!

I think the proportions of the E90 make the it one of the best looking sedans ever made
