So is 595 just one upgrade step away from 650(for DCT)? Or is the 625 still the intermediate?

The VT2-625 is still the model directly below the VT2-650. The only difference is the old base stage 2 model "585" is now a VT2-595 with a new lower price and a little more power. The VT2-625 now has a new lower price.
