I think that it meant to say 3372lbs... not necessarily that's going to happen in the M3 case but it could be an example of incorrect information printed in Guides.
yeah over on 1addicts.com they said it is supposed to be 3372 and not 3732 for the 135i.

go here and scroll down a bit. it was verified because the automatic weight was listed near 3400, so it couldn't possibly make sense that the manual would be 3732.

possible that BMW either finger fudged the weight number on the M3 like they did on the 135i or there is some US emissions thing or other hardware we don't know about.
Well what 1addicts says and the official word from BMW is very different. Waiting for more info....

good point indeed. i found some articles on the 135i confirming the weight around 3400 but if you're that interested you can find them yourself through google. you're right that 1addicts.com isn't the best source for info. especially when compared to m3post.com :)

getting back to the topic of the thread, i can't believe that if you want power folding mirrors you have to get the premium package because they aren't available as stand-alone. i won't be able to get into my garage without them, but i don't want all the other premium crap. i might be the outlier, but thats going to screw me.

The 16 speakers mentioned in that guide are the cue... Logic 7 have 13 speakers.
I don't see anything that says 16 speakers

Don't care about the 135 weight. Was saying I would wait for more info on the M3 weight.

You should be good while in Germany because most of those options that here in the USA are "take it in a package or leave it" could be available as individual retrofits (Dealer install or DYI) there...

go to page 5 ("in the m3 cockpit, you're in total control") and read the text at the top. second paragraph.

Chitown seems to have an overly strong aversion to accepting that the audio system is available. :confused2
Anyone else notice it said the headlight washers were retractable? Rest of the world they aren't.
Is this the same for the regular 3 series around the world?

Actually I'm happy its available, but I don't want to spend 2 grand on it. Hopefully the $700 is correct.
The 16 speaker sound system on the m5 is less than $1000 correct?

Is $700... however, Logic 7 is standard.

It will definitely be more than $700. Euro pricing looks like this...

Hi-Fi - 570 EUR
Hi-Fi Professional Logic 7 - 1180 EUR
Individual Highend Audio - 2100 EUR

In the US, we are getting the Hi-Fi standard so you can make an educated guess based on that what the upgrade will cost.

And this epacy is the reason I'm not happy that the audio upgrade is individual audio. I wouldn't mind paying 700 extra for the logic 700 like in the m5, but I dont know about u but I am not paying over 2K for audio.

Where in the brochure does it say anything about $2k for the audio? It doesn't. Still not sure what all the noise is about.

No, Logic7 has 13 speakers, the standard system with 10 speakers is the "HiFi" system.

Probably won't be $2000. I would say in the $1500 neighborhood, but still a pricey upgrade, seeing as I haven't heard the system, it would be hard to assess the value relative to competitors offerings. Maybe someone with an M5 with the Individual Audio can chime in on how it is.

That was answering the question about the M5 $700 upgrade to the base sound system...
