Got to get that chrome trim wrapped up man! Sticks out like a sore thumb!!!
Spent a few hours after work trying to swap the trunks. Ended up getting stuck on the third brake light. My 8mm socket wasn't deep enough so I had to try multiple ways to get the nuts off. Took me forever.

It got dark and I had to take a phone call before I was able to finish the trunk.. Ran into some alignment issues so hopefully I can get that fixed myself. It seems like such a pain to get it to align properly.

Here are some pics. At least it looks nice on the car from a distance lol

Hopefully I can find some time to finish it tomorrow.

Looks like its coming along well.
I just picked up an e93 today, pretty much the same as what you have (blk/blk).

But I would be too worried about messing up the hard top mechanisms to try and fit a DD boot on by myself. Kudos for the DIY:thumsup:
Spent the morning tinkering with it and ended up getting it to about 90-95% lined up. Not messing with it anymore. Seeing that people have had fitment issues I assume it'll never be 100% aligned. Satisfied for now.

Soon enough! I've been doing a lot to her lately haha.. tints and wrapping the trim next. I'm going to do tints first and see if the chrome will look good with it.. I'm starting to get used to it tbh.

It came out awesome brother! I wish mine fit like that right off the back lol.
Had some time to clean her up today.

Love the stance ad the trunk. Can't wait to see it with the trim line wrapped.

Looks great!!

You should definitely get the trim wrapped! Besides the grills that was one of the first things I did on my E93 made a huge difference. I would have sold you my LUX V4's I let them go for $120 recently when I switched to custom OSS Raptor lights. I liked the Lux a lot, i just wanted something more even. They have a new version called 180s that seem to light the rings more evenly.

Can I ask how much the trunk weighs vs stock? I love the look, I am considering this if it drops some weight in the rear. I have the Alpina spoiler now.

Dont mind my missing center caps.

Thanks! Your car looks great as well. The trunk is definitely lighter.. Closing the trunk takes more of an effort but it's okay. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to weight the CF trunk.
Nice job with the trunk, how did you reinforce the center? Mine has been bowing/bulging shortly after I installed it.

Lukily for me I didn't have to reinforce the center after the final alignment. However.. the center was bulging when it wasn't aligned well. I would try loosening up the bolts a bit and re-aligning the trunk. I pushed the bolts closest to the front of the car as far down as I can and pushing the bolts closest to the rear somewhere between as high as it can go to somewhere in the middle if that makes sense.
tasi333's user avatartasi333 , how much did it cost for you to paint your trunk if you don't mind me asking.

Hi Arthur, I ordered the trunk painted directly from Duke, they sent it to LTMW in L.A. who did the paint job. I had this done a few years ago, so can't remember the total price, but it was definitely not worth the hassle, Duke Dynamics is not a good company to work with, very bad customer service, and fitament is horrible.

I'm not sure exactly what was done to reinforce my trunk but Ranz Motorsports did it for me and it's been a few months now and the fitment is still great with no bulging what so ever. They're right by LTMW so just a suggestion if it really bothers you I'd hit them up.
New plates came in today!

Finally had the chance to turn on the GoPro last night and take a sound clip of my RPI Axle Back Exhaust
New trunk and RPI are awesome!
I had that exhaust for a while. I love the sound. Very exotic. :)

Nice.. did you have just the axle-back? I'm considering either testpipes or an aftermarket x-pipe but I'm worried it might be too loud for me.
I did axle back. I'm in the same boat... i'm about as loud as I want to go currently...
Car looks great! I love the trunk
