Can anyone provide the Porsche model the rear brake pads are off.

I think it was mentioned earlier in the thread but how do you modify them without having to send them back to Europe...

One last item....

Okay half way through instal and some things to note..


The front pads include a sensor that plugs into the OEM plug. It almost looks like it was moded to fit our cars. Is this the case? Or do i need to cut it off and solder the points? Looks like the kit is now plug and play but im not sure.

Second is i was sent 6 brake lines. The 2 in the front have been installed. Then there is a 6-9" female to female brake line and then there is the 2 real lines. Whats the extra lines for?

And last is the rear pads include only one brake sensor. Doesn't it need 2?

Got the answer from Albert in a matter of minutes! Ill leave this here for everyone else.


"Front HAWK pads are plug and play. They where modified to work with BMW E92 but on other brands the brake sensor is not attached to the brake pad so you can put OEM one.

There are 4 lines for the rear.

M3 E92 has only one brake pad sensor in the rear."

I am happy to report that my brakes endured a full track day with no adverse effects on the colour. No discolouration.

My brake ducts have not been installed yet however I am running the Stoptech Aero Rotors in the front.

For those who are interested, my calipers had been ceramic coated before powder coated. I will continue to update the status of the finish as the season rolls along. Once these Hawk DTC-60 pads are done, I will begin looking at some other options. At this rate that won't be until next season.

that is probably the least durable finish possible.

Is it possible to get these refinished in the nickel coating on the brembo gt kit? That seems like a good route for no color fading.

With money anything is possible. I would suggest you find a local plating company that could facilitate this for you. I believe that Albert only offers powder coating, but then again it doesn't hurt to PM him. Seems to get quicker response that way. Let us know if you do contact him.

I think the argument has been discussed earlier in this thread. I believe that the price of this kit is still less than a used kit.

There is also the fact that you can use a stock rotor.

It's new whereas a used kit comes with its own potential issues depending on the previous owner.

For me this kit was priced right and I can run my Apex Arc 8 for the track. I don't believe you can run a ST60 with that wheel and I don't know about ST40.

After exchange and duty, a used kit is still significantly more.

For those who may be interested, I can give a price breakdown when I review the numbers.

Thanks for the cliffnotes! Sorry, I was too lazy to read through from the beginning.

I hadn't considered duties. The kit seemed pricey to me, since I'm due for new rotors now. I recently picked up a ST60 front for a reasonable price.

Valid point with the 18" ARC-8. I believe the ST40 fits for them, but not ST60.

ST60 will fit with the 18" ARC 8. I'm running that combination myself as are quite a few others that I see at the track.

Results have been great. I have run a couple of track days now. Brake feel is firm. Definitely confidence inspiring. I can brake harder and deeper. Overall a nice upgrade from OEM. No issues to report and I love the ease of changing pads. I always change my wheels for track days and it's quick and easy to do my pads too. I can swap everything in 30 minutes.

I'm really tossed in my brake decision. Either this package on OEM rotors or purchase the AP Racing BBK. I need the calipers to fit behind my 219M 18" winter wheels. I'd consider the Brembo 365mm BBK but the front calipers have to come off to swap pads out, which I do for a half dozen track days a year.

yeah big issues on the track. everytime I brake before the hairpin at 190km / hr my face falls off !! hurts like hell !
