I am planning to breathe new life into the skyline runs previously organized by Darkstarzero (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1028254). I have spoken with him and will do my best to stick to the prescribed formula he has set into play. I have organized runs in the midwest prior to moving to VA and since living here have attended events from DC M club drives to the philly cheese steak run.

I will keep the tradition of donating to charity as this is something I believe heavily in, and will aim to do an event every 6-8 weeks and let the user base determine our overall path.

My intent is to use a private facebook group to organize this. I had thought about a dedicated website, various google tools, managing individual forums, and a few other ideas.... but I think it would be easier to manage polls, pictures, maps, and feedback via a facebook group. This way I can push an announcement from FB group and just manage update posts in the forums we choose to post in.

As I am a devout M owner (expecting my 2nd M delivery as soon as the transport driver gets here!) - I will be starting out here and M3forum.net, but eventually will let it grow to other related enthusiast groups (Porsche / Mercedes / other higher end sports cars).

IF YOU HAVE ANY INTEREST IN THESE EVENTS - please PM me your registered Facebook email so I can add you to the group (this is the only purpose I will use the email for) - this group will not be public and will remain invite only. If there is interest from people who are not actively on FB - I will consider a companion meetup.com group as well. But I want to keep the group private and relatively small to a cycling active user group - signups for events will be first come / first serve targeting no more than 25 vehicles. Once in the group, people will not be removed unless they do something to endanger another member on a run.

Events will be held Sundays - AM to early PM - routes will traverse VA, WV, and MD - possibly even some DC routes depending on interest and time. I have some plans and desires to do larger / longer routes, but lets start small and see how it goes.

First route will be targeted for end of June! Send PM's to me here and we will go from there!

Feedback welcome!

- Greg

Group is created and FB invites sent for those that have requested to join.
I do not have facebook but would be down. Also the National Capital Chapter is having the Pie Run this Saturday.
I may still have to join the NCC - I have been contemplating it for some time now -

I will keep a list of interested members who don't use FB and decide what to do when we get closer - trying to avoid managing multiple venues of membership. I think if there is only a few then it is manageable, but if there is a lot, then I will have to figure something out.
I'll be back in purcellville the last 2 weeks of July if there is anything going on. If not maybe we can just get together and try to find a cool spot to get some nice pics of the cars?
A pretty decent turn out of requests - I will begin planning the first run - target date for now is June 19th.
sounds like fun, you mind if a E46 ZHP tags along?
not at all - as long as it is in good working order - that is the only thing I care about - last thing I would want is someone with bad brakes or some other mechanical issue that would put others at risk.

I've always liked the ZHP - considered one for a while before deciding to save up for the e90!
I am interested, please add me!
PM me your registered facebook email addresses and I will send an invite to the group.
Now that the FB group is setup and has a direct link - anyone else interested in joining - please request to join at the following page:

the facebook page link doesnt work. can you send a PM
Are these still happening?
I was going to use the maps myself and take some drives with my dad (E90 M3) and uncle (e46 m3) pretty soon if you want to join us. If something more organized is still going on, I'd love to be a part of that as well

I'd like to join, if I can... Let me know. Thanks.

I have an E93.
Any tentative dates for a Skyline run?

I'll let you know if/when we get something going. It will be pretty informal, but it would be fun to get some bimmers together to carve some twistys:burnrubbe
That would be a great thing to start up again can't wait.
I'm putting together some routes and will be doing one last run through today. Will be posting something soon for a meet and drive.
Awesome --- I'll be watching this thread!!!
Awesome. Let me know when this will happen.

Cheers.
Sounds good.
