The pedal on the right your right foot rests on is meant to be mashed down at every opportunity. The car starts developing problems if you don't do that religiously

Make sure you warm up the engine before pushing it. I'd say below 3500RPM until the engine oil is in working temp. I would also suggest more frequent oil changes (~5K) than the factory recommendation.
