IND-Distribution wroteI got a set on the way but just noticed that these are fitted to pre-LCI models. Mine's a 2012 so would it fit or do I need the older style surround for it to fit.We will have blue in the future.
Here is the DIY for the M button. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1492750
The red start / stop button will not replace the black ring. Only the actual button itself.
Maseroche wroteThe button itself is the same across all E9X chassis.I got a set on the way but just noticed that these are fitted to pre-LCI models. Mine's a 2012 so would it fit or do I need the older style surround for it to fit.
This is the Pre-LCI button with the aluminum. Does this fit LCI?

IND-Distribution wrotereally like the look of these but don't love the way the M button sits deeper/more recessed than the other buttons. is this typical? can it be corrected? thx.
Not Sure wroteYes it can be corrected, due to the painting/manufacturing process, the guides on the M button are a little wider now. All you have to do is remove the excess paint on the guides and it will sit and slide like the OE button.really like the look of these but don't love the way the M button sits deeper/more recessed than the other buttons. is this typical? can it be corrected? thx.
donut_boi wroteThis is exactly what I did, used a razor blade and was careful not to scrape any paint that was visible. Not the prettiest, but none of the sections where the paint was removed is visible once installed. Prior to removing the paint, the button would stick in the housing, where the OEM one slid freely and would fall out if turned upside down. It now slides freely and also falls out when turned upside down. Button sits flush as well.Yes it can be corrected, due to the painting/manufacturing process, the guides on the M button are a little wider now. SeattleLSB wroteNot 100% sure, but I can't imagine it won't. I need to look for it on RealOEM.This is the Pre-LCI button with the aluminum. Does this fit LCI?
I just installed a blue stop/start button from IND. Strange thing is that from the pics on the IND site, the button looked to be painted with non-metallic paint similar to santorini blue. This would have been a good match to the blue stripe on my Performance steering wheel. However, the button I got from IND was painted with metallic paint more like monte carlo blue - BONUS!!!! because it matches the exterior of my car - couldn't have turned out better.
hotbmwfan wroteAt first I thought it matched the blue in the BMW Roundel (see the first pic by IND above). Odd that it doesn't.I just installed a blue stop/start button from IND. I went with the red ring a few months ago and I liked the red start button when that came out but wasn't sure if I'd be happy with the combination of all red ring and button. Picked up the IND button and gave it a shot, happy with the result.

call me crazy, but I want a satin/matte finish red or blue one like how the black OE one is.
IND-Distribution, do you ever plan to bring one out?
Also, when are you guys expecting to release the yellow ones?
donut_boi wroteHeck yeah! I'd be in like Flynn for a yellow one! Also, when are you guys expecting to release the yellow ones?
Kal_el wroteThis interior looks amazing. I have fox red leather as well and might be stealing this entire color palette from you. What shift knob/boot is that and where did you purchase the alcantara steering wheel from?Ind ///M and Start/Stop
