2009-2013 M3 model differences

2011-2013 M3 with ZCP have an improved EDC + DSC software. There was a BMW press release article reference on the improved EDC (not to confuse with euro MDM). They re-optimized how the EDC uses DSC data to dynamically adapt the damper setting in sport mode. This is no speculation.

"With a suspension lowered by some 10 mm and light alloy wheels in the size 9 x 19 inches at the front and Y-spoke design at the rear, the Competition Package provides further optimised longitudinal and transverse dynamics. In addition, the control of the electronic damper adjustment function EDC including a Sport mode specially developed for the Competition Package has been precisely adjusted to the chassis modifications by means of map-based control and the driving stability control function DSC."

You should always purchase parts by vin number. BMW loves to switch parts mid year to give you the shaft. You can't just ask for a 2012 alternator and expect it to fit.

haha for reals, a bit of a hassle but will save you time and money by looking parts by vin number

Lol no not at all, the m3 has special control arms no other 3 series gets

m3 actuators anyone any idea were to code them in the carly bmw app via dndroid

I found a m3 for sale an 09 m3 with 64k miles I took it for pre inspection and the guy said it needs a new oil filter housing gasket and I also got to do the road bearing kms but the car as is for 24 grand otd my pros on that car is it's clean drives nice my cons r it's a 10 year old car and I'm financing the car for 6 years I don’t know if the car will last that long but do you think it’s a goodbye for a 2009 and three in 2019? FYI just started college gonna be tough on money

hard to tell if its a "goodbye", but I definitely would consider other financing options.

Not sure an M3 is the right car to have in mind if money will be tough to come by with college.

Did you mean the oil fill housing? I believe you will need to replace the entire valve cover gasket on the passenger side if it's the oil fill housing that's leaking. You might get away with finding an indy shop who will do it as low as $3-400 or so.

And rod bearings will cost you between $1800 to $2700 depending on the shop as well.

So on top of that 24 grand, you're adding another $2200 to $3100.

There is no reason a 2009 with 64k shouldn't last another 6 years. From what I have read, after figuring in the commons issues (RBs, DCT leak, TAs), E9X M3s seem to be more reliable than 335is (N54 or N55 which have the LPFP, HPFP, Water pump issues, and other issues).

The majority of the operating expenses for an M3 is gas, oil changes, brakes and tires and all 4 of those really depend on how much you drive.

Full disclosure here...the only reason I was able to buy my E92 M3 was because I got it for $17,500 (81K miles). The DCT lower pan, RBs and motor mounts were done for $2800. So all together, I am only $20,300 into it. Come spring time, I will probably get both valve cover gaskets done.

I would definitely make the seller pay for the OFHG and I would assume that's a $1K job at least. It's a BIG job if done correctly, with so much of the front end coming off... depending on the spec of the car, that price needs to probably be in the 22K range just with the leaking oil filter housing... then budget rod bearings.

He could probably shop around and get a reasonable price if its the OFHG.

But you are right....have the seller take some money off the asking price to pay for the OFHG.

Does anyone have any idea how much this car would be worth and what is the best venue to sell other than Bring a Trailer? I am new here and not sure if this is the correct place to post?

Not the right forum to post this in, so you probably won't get many answers. I stumbled across this by accident lol.
But BringaTrailer would be the place to list this car, cars&bids doesn't bring the full $ usually, other auction sites are meh. If you want to let the market determine the price, get some nice photos taken, list out all the maintenance and information and be an active seller in the comments. That would be the way to extract the $ for it if you have the time and energy.
Maybe get a quote from EAG to see what a good reserve number may be...
Only thing I see hurting the resale is the sunroof and no EDC or comp pack.

I'm going to shoot you a pm message, I'm an interested buyer. I have like an identical spec but high miles and would love to make a low mile car my forever E92.

As Ethan said, yours isn’t a Competition Pack and also doesn’t have tbe EDC option.
