footwell module and blower motor went bad. both replaced.

car had crazy electrical gremlins when the footwell module died. figures the 10 year extended warranty on that part expired 4 months ago
Same happened to me 2 moths past warranty extension. Luckily my shop was able to save it via some computer black magic.
Installed new Vision headlights from BayOptiks.

^ looks good. I bought the bmw mats made by weather tech which are pretty much identical to yours. I use them year round now.

What pedals are you running? They look awesome.

Thank you, Pedals are Pedal Haus BMW, I mixmatch my setup because I have both sets in Black and Silver for our 6MT!! wanted to be EXTRA special. lol:love:
I bought new HVAC controls off ebay with the heated seat buttons on the unit. Threw the trim away, didn't need it nor the lower buttons. My car didn't come with heated seats but I swapped from gray to black a while back and the new to me seats do have seat heating. Driver side works, passenger seat doesn't but some coding/wiring/fuse additions need to happen to make passenger work I guess? I know the passenger seat is not the problem. A project for another day.

Previously I tried a different HVAC unit from an X3 that had heated seat buttons and while it made the driver side seat work, AC stopped working! The new one doesn't have this issue.

I got the undertray in the mail from Mporium. Should be a fun weekend.
I installed the undertray this evening. I had no undertray at all so it's a nice feeling that there's some protection under there now. It took me a couple hours to get it on and that was mainly due to taking my time. If I had to do it again I'd figure about an hour and a half. Everything is super tight!!

I'm interested in an improvement in aerodynamics and may be in luck. I've got friends at The Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research and they have a wind tunnel. Once covid clears I'll see if we can test it.

Ripped my entire IDrive and CarPlay box apart to put it back to stock only to verify the IDrive controller really did fry during the battery change.

Ripped it down to the bare PCB to see if there was any obvious damage but I'm out of alternatives so had to order a new controller.

Now a 5 minute swap is going to take me 2 hours to reassemble the whole setup 😭 and I need to pray the new controller will work without programming or figure out how to update the software.
Any thoughts as to why the controller fried for a battery change? I'm due for a battery and just completed the CarPlay install. Did you register battery immediately?
The last of fluids to be serviced.
Went ahead and ordered these from RW Carbon:

they have a 2 week lead time
Got a misfire Sunday on cylinder 3 bad enough to limp mode, had been noticing a bit of misfire on idle in the morning the day or two before. Plugs have 5k on them so figured it wasn't the plugs. Instead of wasting time swapping coils and triggering another misfire intentionally, I just went ahead and grabbed another coil from Bimmerworld and overnighted it. Turns out that was indeed the problem! Luckily it was not cylinder 4 or 8, so I just popped it out with a screwdriver and jammed the new one in and bada bing bada boom, back to normal.

I've been pretty happy with their rear diffuser. Fitment is pretty decent.

Hmm. Maybe rally the community to send you the various aftermarket undertray options and test them all in there!
Got a hood front rubber seal (before/after below).

Started taking off the exhaust to replace the pinion diff seal, and the diff bushings (for aluminum solid ones). Took off the axle back today.

When I was underneath the car, I noticed a couple of threads I didn't touch, but there was nothing screwed on them. Can anyone figure out what could be missing in those threads?

coil? What's the part number?
Repairs like these have always been a source of personal pride. Typical break that occurs when you bump your reader. I hope it hold up, if not I think the module is only a couple of bucks. Always keep up with issues like these.

It makes me feel better that I'm not the only one that did this. :)

Eh, you have a button for the boot? Missed that during 7 years or only on the coupe?

Been there, done that - I replaced the plug with a new one since I broke it so bad. What PITA job. Good work on the epoxy fix!!
