Great, I'm probably going to purchase one just as preventative protection. Been noticing a little bit of overflow, not enough to cause concern yet. Did power steering fluid need to be flushed during install?

These may not be overly helpful. Hard to get a shot between the top PS reservoir pipe and the AC pipe. Basically there is very little room between the two - can't get a finger in-between. But, the travel on the reservoir for the two to rub looks to me to be enough where its not an issue. Mine has been installed for about two years and I don't see any wear. I daily drive and track mine.

I didn't have a lot of overflow until a couple of years into track use for whatever reason and then it wasn't as significant as a couple of buddies. One wrapped a rag around his and solve the problem, another made a catch bottle. Some people are happy with the rag, but that wasn't a solution I felt like I wanted. Pretty inexpensive part relatively speaking to solve the problem.

As for the flush, I don't remember. Obviously had to add new, but I can't remember if we flushed the whole system or just filled after it drained out.

If there's another angle you want, I'll be glad to try and get another image.

Unfortunatley I don't have as much room as you and the fitting rubs up against the pipe.
I asked someone I know in the UK for pics of his and his rubs too but he's not worried about it. I'm going to try and order a shorter fitting. Thanks again

I just bought this reservoir as well. I've scoured the boards but can't find any install tips or videos. Is this relatively easy to install? Any tips? Thanks!

it is relatively easy to install

Some fluid will fall out but you probably want to replace it anyway

Good product. Have run this through several hard days now, and no more spraying fluid through my hood vents onto the windshield. RE: my earlier posts, it does seem correct to have the fluid level just a little above the grate.

Downside is that I hear power steering related whining, similar to when fluid is low. Steering feels normal on track, so it doesn't seem like it's a functional problem. Anyone else get this noise?

Same whirring noise for me as well. I keep thinking the pump is going, but the steering is fine. Have run the BW tank for several years now.

I just filled the bw reservoir a bit higher and the whining stopped. I still run the sweat band.

So a shiny aluminum piece to attract more attention to the main topic of discussion under the hood. Nice

I did the same. Half full was whining coming of the track. I filled to 3/4 and quite.

Was anybody able to put together a DIY for this? I'd rather do it myself than pay somebody as on the surface it looks simple....

1. Remove bw reservoir from box and connect the provided fittings to the bw reservoir
2. suck the fluid out of the old reservoir with a device of your choice
3. remove the two bolts holding the reservoir (be careful not to drop the two metal sleeves the bolts go through or they may be lost forever) and disconnect the hoses in whichever order works best.
4. remove the reservoir and replace with the be reservoir.
5. reconnect the hoses to the nipples on the bw reservoir and tighten the supplied clamps. Before reconnecting the small hose I suggest flushing the PS fluid using the guide in the link below.

I just installed mine. Bimmerworld shipped it very promptly even though their site said 'backorder' when I ordered.

Except for the getting the hose on the 8AN fitting, the install was easy. However the 8AN made for a worthy foe. Either my hose wasn't as pliable as bimmerworld expected or the 8AN fitting's ridges were much more aggressive than the OEM part, but getting the hose on that fitting was much more difficult than it should have been, to the point where it was touch and go whether or not I'd be buying a new hose.

FWIW, I trimmed a little off my lines although the instructions don't call for it, as the fittings are a little toward the center of the car compared with the OEM part.

After installing, my return line barely touches the AC line in a place where the AC line won't be harmed, and the tank may just barely touch the coolant line underneath. If it touches, I'll add some washers to the mounts to raise it slightly.

Prior to running the car, I lifted its front wheels off the ground, fired it up, and turned the wheels lock to lock many times to get air out of the system, assuming there was any.

I filled mine to about 1cm over the baffle. No whine noise.

Beautiful looking piece, I look forward to no dribbling next track day.

When I opened up the cap I noticed the fluid was below what looks like below a honey comb separator. My question what is the proper level that the fluid should be at?

I have the same reservoir. Instructions say fill to just above the baffle.

Any time you hear that noise just add fluid (regardless of which reservoir you have) and it will go away.

Much appreciated guys! i bought some CHF 11S P.S.F. filled it up just above the baffle and noise seemed to go away
