Have the eBay version which is failing and also the OEM with two clips snapped off. Would it be better to repair the OEM one ( attached ) or the eBay one ? Don't know exactly where the clips go no the OEM b/c they are gone and ring is kind of carved out in the areas where they were. What do you think ?

Hey, I suggest you fixing OEM one as OEM is made of ABS plastic which is much more durable.and flexible than PLA used in Ebay ones. Should be easy to remove all clips and marking the spots where original clips were on OEM one as well. You'll just glue new clips where original clips were and that's it.

Got the clips and installed today. Had to take the whole thing apart and pull the boot off the eBay ring and re-glue to the repaired OEM ring. Seems to fit great. Wish I knew about this sooner ! Thanks again.

In order to install the zhp knob... all I need is this ring and the clips? Then glue the zhp boot to the ring then glue the clips to the ring?

I'm getting ready to install an F80 boot & knob, and plan to purchase these ring & clips instead of re-using my old one.

Just curious - why are the clips not printed as part of the ring?

The reason is the direction of the layers. All the 3D printed parts are strong one direction and very fragile on the other. If clips are pribted with the frame, direction of layers on the clips appear to be 90 degrees, so the bond between layers is weak... That was the reason why ebay shufter frame broke on me. The frame was ok, but clips broke from the frame. I decided to fix that with creating my own design with clips separate from the frame, so if they are printed separately, and horizontally laid down, they are much stiffer and also more flexible.

Have you considered offering the e-brake handle/boot ring as well? Would be great for those replacing their factory boots and not interested in re-using the OEM rings and clips.

Hmm, never thought of replacing that. If anyone can spare an OEM ring for e-brake, I can try building a 3D model and printing it.
