kolosy wroteNo, my android does the same thing while charging and streaming audio at the same time. A phone getting warm during either actions may be a bit unusual, but when you are running multiple functions and wirelessly charging at the same time it is going to get warm. Think of all the functions that go into Carplay by itself and the SoC in your phone is likely working pretty hard. Unless it was getting "hot" and not just warm, I would not worry about it.FWIW, that's exactly the behavior I get with stock carplay + charging mat on my F97. May be a carplay or iPhone issue in general.

Well, I had to change the ignition coil for cylinder nr 8 due to misfiring.
Since two other ignition coils was changed last year I bought two this time, to have one in backup.
So, after the new one was installed the engine run for like 5 seconds before it shut down one cylinder again. Though something had gone wrong, but now it was misfiring for cylinder nr 7 instead.
I'm not that used to doing this kind of mechanical work, guess the first one took me like 90 minutes to figure out how to change, but for nr 7 it took 15-20 minutes.
I have read all those stories about how hard it is to loosen the ignition colis on the S65, and that you need all kind of special tools. But so far I've changed three ignition coils now and I have pulled them by handcraft and no tools. Guess it's because the spark plugs were changed last year!?!?!

kolosy wroteDid some focused testing today. First I reset the bluetooth connection to the Carsara box and drove around without CarPlay. After about 40 mins I restored the wireless CarPlay setup and dove around some more. Charging worked in both cases, but slowly. Not complaining too much because I know inductive charging can be slow, but it certainly made me wish this mat had the same fast charge tech I have in my bedside charger. I wonder if Induktiv might release a V2 in the future or if they're limited by what they can draw from the car.FWIW, that's exactly the behavior I get with stock carplay + charging mat on my F97. Between the two, it was definitely slower (as I figured it would be) while running wireless CarPlay. With CarPlay on, I was getting 1% charge roughly every 10 minutes. Not great, not terrible, but at least the number was moving in the right direction.
In neither situation did the phone get terribly warm this time. I think I might be able to chalk that up to a stuck download, an app going crazy with location services, or an LTE issue. I'll keep an eye on it though and see if it happens again. Bottom line for the moment is that everything works, but I'll probably throw a lighting cable in the armrest for those situations where I need a quicker charge.
(Yes, I know this belongs in the Carplay Retrofit thread. Just posting here to close the loop for the few folks who asked.)
Had the car detailed today for the first time since picking it up last August. Then drove it to the shop where I had pads/rotors/spark plugs/fluids replaced recently because I noticed a metallic clanking noise from the rear… hopefully a straightforward fix. Then I can take pics

Oil and filter change, 1200 miles post rod bearings. BMW Twin Turbo 10w60. Also re-routed a fresh AUX cable from the glovebox to the console for the Apply Carplay system.
Installed a Pitaka wireless charging magnetic mount(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VNMWM47/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I ran a flat USB-C cable(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08LT62HMG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) under the center console to a QC charger in the armrest. Better than the Induktiv solution IMO, which I had in my 335, because the mount holds the phone in place and can charge or not based on the plug being in or out.

Sorry in advance, forgot to take before pictures for comparison, but my driver seat Shoulder and side Boltster had a lot of wear on it....going to be gone on family trip for the weekend...so decided apply and let it sit for several days.

(caught 2 nails in 1 tire, patched it and drove on it for about 6 weeks and then started losing air again so they're off the car now)
