That is really bizarre. Do you do a lot of launches? A sharp rock flung up during travel - or a burnout - could have done that but I don't see any impact on the wheel well itself in the pictures. Two of the wires look like they could have been animal work, but the dielectric jackets on the other wires look like they have very clean cuts. If you look at those cuts, you'll see they're at an angle, instead of straight across. Someone who cut those wires with the wheel off would generally cut at a 90 degree angle, but someone who reached up under the car would almost be forced to cut at an angle.
So, it almost looks like a prank or sabotage of some sort. Do you have any enemies? If not, just blame evil ninjas and move on.

I'm aware that side was damaged in a collision with a previous owner. But everything seems well repaired.

And I remember trying to do a powerslide some day, when still learning the car's behavior, and that went a little wrong, giving the car a intense balance. Just after that, in the next light, the DSC got a fault.

Couldn't spend money that time, and left it that way.

After some months, system restraint and EDC faults. Tank level e onboard computer too.

That's it.

No burnouts. Many launches.

There was much wheel hop during the launches, by the way, and this may be a cause. Don't know. (This was solved replacing the subframe bushings for solid aluminum ones)

Ah, that is above the wheel liner, I think there is no way for a rock to be projected there.

That's not what you said in the initial post. Your mirror was destroyed and before you knew what happened the suspected culprit took off. Again riding through reds and smashing mirrors aren't the same thing.

Took care of TA's preventively this weekend. Was on original TA's at 145k miles. Still no issues but wanted to take care of them before I SC.

Side note, finally decided to buy a Milwaukee Stubby impact wrench and m12 extended reach ratchet… made the job a breeze.

And this was a lone drive.

Went for a short cruise with some locals on Sunday.

Was going to take the car to get new titanium exhaust welded and didn't latch the hood. Luckily was within a mile from home at 25mph and didn't result in a real accident. Such a dumb ass move 😭

Guess I'll just get a carbon hood.

OMG!!! Damn that sux!! So sorry to see that!

The parking garage has taken another victim. I was trying to angle the car to not scratch the front splitter, in doing this I did not pay attention to the side of the car. A quick buff removed most of the paint transfer and it looks a bit more presentable now:slap: Anyone know of decent body shops in SoCal?

Finally decided to install my upgraded angel eyes. Most time consuming part other than taking the front end off was sanding, priming, and painting the chrome shrouds black. Took a ton of time but love how it turned out.

Absolute shame, and so avoidable. I am embarrassed 😞 Again, least no one rear ended me or hit me head on during my moment of blindness…

I've been saying I'm going to paint the underside of the hood latches with bright red paint for months to prevent such a thing.

I think I'll consider a Seibon carbon replica hood and transfer the vents and hood latches. Anyone have any experience? Alternatively could check out the euro options but the shipping along would be more expensive than a hood.

Took my e93 to a high performance driving event at Portland International Raceway yesterday, my first. It made so much of the narrative on the e9x apparent. The e93 with the top up is not a great tracking car but it's adequate, and I can now see why a big brake kit can be a necessity. I was in the intermediate grouping, despite being a novice, and yielded the straightaways to many 911s and the occasional humbling Miata. Still, it was a good day and I feel like I know the car on a whole new level.

Do not be humbled too much by the miata's as the power to weight ratio makes you look like a lumbering elephant! When i autocrossed regularly it would make me sick to see a stock miata destroy my heavily modded e36 m3. It is always going to happen, even after you put that harrop on there.
