Euro Headlight Switch - Soon to be Discontinued

FYI

I've been having a hell of a time waiting for the European headlight switch to become available on ECS so finally decided to reach out and ask, basically he said they don't expect to be getting any more of them and expects them to be discontinued soon..

Purchased one last night from BMW Atlanta and just got my order canceled saying they won't import a European part into the US for install on US vehicles Not like they're installing it themselves but w/e. Ordered one off Ebay so if anyone has been looking for the rear fog light button headlight switch might be now or never I think. I know a lot of m3 guys years ago really liked this not sure about now, the kids over on e90 don't seem to get it...

Have you considered doing the mod? I picked up just the oem button and the pusher for $20. I didn't need the pusher since mine is a 2011. It looks and functions perfectly.

Ya I forgot to mention I did the mod a few years back. The chrome piece off the switch fell off and the clips are loose in the dash now after the years so needing a new one anyways

Bought one of these from them in 2013... along with the EU sun visors without the airbag stickers on them. Even though I never use the rear fog, I like the little details. I also have the EU warning triangle from my European Delivery mounted in the trunk.

If you can score the sun visors, they're super nice.

Nice! I got some 3m adhesive remover over a paper towel and removed the stickers off my visors that way, then left them in the sun and they have been perfect

Did the same! The euro visors are honestly one of my favorite things I did to my E92 and my E90. In addition to the switch and warning triangle, I added the rear power outlets as well this time around with the E90.

I just have a piece of blue tape on the button so I know which one it is lol

Does the anthracite match the headliner? Nice and supple material on the visors? I mean if they were half the price and $100 each I'd consider it but for $400 or so I just can't get around to getting them over how mine look

Yes, they match the headliner exactly in both color and material. Even without the stickers, I wasn't a fan of the cheap vinyl feel of our OEM visors. FWIW, the best price I was able to find on these was $167.81 each from Cars245.com (total with shipping to the US came to $348.61). I hadn't ordered anything from them before, so I was a bit skeptical, but if you don't mind waiting a few weeks, they did arrive safely and in OEM packaging.

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only person who nerded out and got the sun visors. It's a shame the US ones weren't as nice.

Ya I'm gonna have to get them now, thanks.... lol. You guys have good taste that's why I like it over here, I am not a fan of the vinyl either but the headliner is nice and I still enjoy it. I checked out that cars website thanks, a bit sketch for sure haha, I may just go with a 'reputable' seller on ebay for like $20 more each and get some extra insurance at least not sure yet

Headlight switch came in under 3 weeks from Lithuania, happy.

Good eBay seller, gonna look to get the sun visors next.

Just tried to order from 245 and the site would not let me add the part to my cart. Message was something to the effect of: part not available in your country

Any other sources to get this part? It was an easy mod to my first M3 and want it on this one.

You are correct in your statement, but......

That's not front fogs. That is the euro switch. It is for rear fogs, which is what they call them in Europe. It illuminates a red portion of the taillights.

I have it on mine. See the second post in the thread for a pic.

I'm aware, I did the same mod, I'm just saying we have no use for the upper front fog button on the one you linked, so you'd have to swap out the blank from your OEM one. Or you could just buy the correct part and sell your OEM, much easier.

Gotcha, I didn't even catch that it had the upper one.

The euro sunvisors are great. It always made no sense that at the pricepoint this car sold at when it was new, why in the world was it coming with vinyl sunvisors.

My wife's cx-5 has cloth sunvisors, and it was less than half the cost of the m3.

You can take them to an upholstery shop and have them wrapped in oe anthracite for around $100. For the price of those you could almost wrap your entire headliner, pillars and sun visors with alcantara
