Any track car people get rid of the heater/blower and regret it?
I can't think of a single time at the track when I needed to defrost the window… But it probably has to do with my location.

Also curious. What's the weight savings worth?
honestly it doesn't get cold here in the city and weight savings would be decent... but waking up and being able to sit in a warm car while waiting it out is fantastic - lots of 8am start times and it do be cold on track in the morning.
If you're not trailering the car, having no ability to defrost the windshield could get really dangerous.

right. i'll still drive my car on the street on occasion. i can't remember who, but someone had a wired universal defroster on their front windshield. should be an easy and lightweight way of keeping visibility.

Just some food for thought: During an event I was once driving in, during late Fall at Road Atlanta, back in the nineties in a Porsche 944S2, I learned the value of a good heater blower. It had been misty and cold that morning before heading out on track. Then it started to rain. Lightly at first. The rain quickly got harder and the ambient temperature dropped. I was having trouble demisting the windscreen, because the heater fan in the 944S2 was either barely working, or not working at all (later on it was determined to have a bad ground). Anyway, even my helmet visor started misting up which was easy to fix by just raising it, BUT the only real place for me to wipe the inside of the windshield was on the back straight, which is a pretty fast strip of asphalt in North America. I ended up using one of my racing gloves to wipe the inside of the windshield for a few laps, before having to pit and collect some rags. It was a good lesson learned. In summary; IF you do remove the heater blower have a plan for demisting the inside of the windshield when you're racing in the rain.. Or just carry some rags, but of course those add weight..
right, the one time i'd need it would be a problem. we don't really get rain here and my car is typically garaged, but the trailer is open.
maybe i'll try the universal defroster wires before i get rid of it to see if it really bugs me or not.

i guess you can experiment with an anti-fog during the winter since it does get cold enough. just spray it on the inside - the night before and see if it fogs up in the morning lmao
HGK hood is on - good fit & quality for a race piece.

That looks awesome! Paint or wrap?
That is actually just the finish of the carbon/Kevlar composite with the gloss coat they put on. Probably just rock it like this for a bit until the car is ready for it’s new livery once the rest of the body work is done in the next couple of months.

Sorry I'm an idiot. I meant are you going to paint or wrap. But livery suggests wrap. Either way looks rad.
Yeah the HGK pieces are good quality with a good price. I guess drift cars expect to replace body panels often. Lol

Yeah will be wrapping it.

Yeah really happy with the fit of the hood. Haven’t fit the doors yet but guessing they should be on point as well.

I'll let you know how it holds up I guess. I haven't seen anything to steer me away from it in the past years.
In a dilemma on which to prioritize for the next mod. Got a pass for Black Friday but can't decide between

1. Full SPL (already have front control)
2. Solid sub/power flex diff
3. CAE shifter

SOLID SUB FRAME / DIFF will be the best bang for the bucket from this list.

Any feed back on poly v delrin v solid? Car is still street driven some <8k miles a year though. So I think I'd enjoy some diff whine.
If you got full interior barely noticeable. Once you start stripping, things go up in volume.
