(100%) E9x OEM Camera Installation (DIY)

I am looking into getting this retrofitted into a 2007 E60 M5. I already have CIC and Combox. Everything looks pretty straight forward except the PDC module.

E60 uses Valeo ones not Bosch, any idea if the valeo ones will work? I saw that E70's have TRSVC module and also use Valeo PDC modules.

As long as you have CIC C1A, it just looks for can bus signal to power up all the system. And i do not think E60 uses different CANBUS system than E9x does. I think it should work just like E9x does!

U will need same exact parts on this topic plus PDC wiring harness for rear : 66200418636 with 4 PDC sensor + 18mm Step Drill Bit to open perfect holes which is marked behind the bumper. Then after everything installed PM me, i can code everything properly!

Not to derail this topic, but I found this on eBay. Says if you have cic w/oem pdc, coding is the only thing needed for this to work. Has anyone tried this option?

Bro this is a regular emulator that was sold for years in this platform. I am not fan of aftermarket, that is why i have done this retrofit with oem equipment. If you decide to do emulator, there is tones of topics on the net.

hello Sangria, after a lot of time and effort, with the help of a friend and your useful information, to installation and the camera. she goes perfectly but there is an error that I do not understand where I am wrong: if I reset it while the car I am driving it, the error is canceled and does not reappear. when I stop and do the diagnosis it gives me this error:

Message faulty (vehicle speed, 0x1A0), all-round vision camera receiver, DSC trar 107752.

what can i have wrong?

This is a common issue. E84/E70 came with EBH3 module instead of DSC. For this reason TRSVC that is made for E84 and E7x series looking for EBH3 instead of DSC. Since E9x cars came with DSC there is nothing you can do. Just live with it

Thanks to all the work you guys have done here and especially SaNGRia for making this DIY.

Its cost me a lot more than $170 (closer to $600) but I have got all the parts now to attempt this, lets hope they are correct (and work!)

I got lucky as the PDC is almost impossible to find in the UK, but SyphonX was selling one on eBay, many thanks for all the work you’ve done for this SyphonX, I didn’t realise the one I bought was from you initially.

I would add the one thing I got cheaper that here was the retrofit cable, which came directly from Cotswold BMW in 2 days with a good discount

Thought I’d get the PDC swapped first.

I don’t think my car has ever been apart so everything put up a fight.

Still, I eventually managed to swap in the e84 PDC and do the CIC coding, all good, after coding I see the RVC option and it has half a car on it as no camera yet.

The next step was to figure out where to put the TRSVC but I don’t have the fuse box next to my combox, so I stopped and put it all back together.

Does that mean I need to run cables back to the PDC box from the TRSVC ? (PDC is stacked with 2 other modules just above the battery)

Seems like you have the correct parts and looks great. You can put the TRSVC under the Combox with a single zip tie. Thats how i done mine and 0 issue for years.

I'm 90% there now.

The RHD E92 routing is a bit different, and after talking with a fellow forum member I made a splitter for CAN and Power, de-pinned the PDC and used that.

All works fine, tidied up and I went to put the handle in, but it will not fit

It turns out the eBay reverse handles can be different, so I'm trying another seller with what _looks_ like the one Sangria posted.

I also noticed a bit of corrosion starting around the edge of the hole for the trunk switch! I didn't think that would be a thing on an e92 - I removed it and touched it in (its not visible anyway once the handle is in)

Final update, I just could not get the handle in with the camera attached, but there is actually enough room to push the camera into the handle from behind, so I did that.
I then followed SyphonX instructions to code the TVSRC so the lines are closer to the edge of the bumper (its much better but not 100%, but I dont have the ability to work out anything better)

Idk if im doing something wrong but when i download the e84 file and change the txt to rar the file still opens as a text documet with bun scrambled letters and symbols..

You are doing something wrong. You need a program to open rar files like winrar. If it doesnt work then you right click and click "open with" and select winrar . It will solve the issue!

Sounds like: go into folder options in windows, check show file extensions.
Windows is hiding the real .txt and preventing the .rar change.

SaNGRia first of all thank you for all of your guidance on this thread which I have been following closely -

PDC is a desirable element (and specifically helpful for this project) as I have neither front nor rear pdc in my lci e91

question I am asking is where on earth can the rear pdf wiring harness 66200418636 be found/purchased?

i requested this part from Europe since it looked out of production in USA. But the Ebay seller from Lithuania. You need to find a seller over there, they can most probably request the part!
