Buying an m3 today???

Im considering buying my first m3 e92.
its got 100k miles on it, but it just changed the rod bearings in march 2022.
What would you look out for?
any tips for buying my first m3?
it it stupid to buy a m3 with 100k miles?
its 2008 automatic.

I got my m3 back in November with 99k miles on the way I threw a rod had to get a completely new engine so just be carefully with the rods

Rod bearings on the way home!? Ouch!

Having replaced a motor with a new factory crate engine a few years ago, today this would double the cost of current early e92 Ms (and even more so for e90/93s). The cost of a rod bearing job is well worth it on any motor over 50k miles.

I have spent more on repairs and maintenance than I did to buy my '08 M back in 2011 (used). Hell, I spent more than $22k last year on a refresh (inside, outside, and under hood), rod bearings (at 36k ish miles on 'new' motor), and supercharger (ESS G1). I fell like I'm standing next to the fire pit in the backyard and throwing 100s in each winter to get it started, lol

Yeah it hurt but the dealer paid for the new engine thankfully and they did the rods on the new one anyways I'm thinking of getting a supercharger idk which to go with though ess, vf, or g power do you have any advice

I went with ESS G1.

The older versions from ESS and VF were very similar (from my perspective), but with the lessons learned by ESS from 1000s of superchargers installed into M3s and other brands, the G1 is currently the best option on the market. And with the price of the G1 now significantly less than the first generation of superchargers from everyone (ESS, VF, G Power, AA, Harrop), it felt like the right choice for me.
