What have you done with or to your M3 today?

Put the factory air box back on as well as the plastic motor shields and various other oem tidbits and took her to the local bmw dealer to sell. Myuh (my DCT) e93 was a fantastic entry into the platform but my heart isn't big enough for two M3s. Viva Rocky, my Lemans Blue e90 6mt. Happy and sad this morning.

I had it listed private party for 29,900 and I wasn't getting any private party interest - just dealers. They gave me 26k which I was pleased with. Selling a convertible in the Pacific Northwest is challenging and the window to get it done was shortened this year due to a very wet spring. Also, as others have pointed out, a lot of the money for purchases like this has tightened up last few months. I had an issue with my bpm cable so I sold it as a stage II with the primary cats in a box in the trunk. Hey, does this car have catalytic converters? Absolutely. They're in the trunk, lol.

Not bad from a dealer. Not at all. Yeah, while prices on these have remained fairly high overall, with the economy in the shitter I would imagine we are headed to a high-supply, low-demand kind of situation. That being the case you did well to get what you did right now. E93's, and verts in general, are the red headed step children of the M world. I have had 2 and took a beating when it came time to sell.

Brake flush done today.

I think it's exciting. You still have one in the stable. I think I am about to get mine listed soon as well. I'd like to come back to the platform at some point. Have my name down on a new CTR though.

Started on valve cover gasket replacement. New thermostat, coolant temp sensor and spark plugs. Also replaced the VANOS covers with those infamous over-priced Russian pieces that I paid too much for.

Anyone want to 'read' these plugs?



I'm going to have the valve covers repainted so this is how it'll sit for the next few days (at least).

Oh yeah most of us have been there. I'm impressed that many applications can just go without tension in a spot. Ran my dct pan sans a screw for a few weeks while I set up for a successful extraction. Also can do ok with only 3 of 4 oil separator screws. According to a friend

You can get the B16s for under 3K at rockauto, there's usually a 5% discount floating around. I just bought a set and they came in less than 2 weeks, the EDC function is awesome and the difference between each setting is much more noticable compared to stock.

Oh, do share more. How old/worn were your OE EDC units before? How does comfort compare between the two, and how does sport? Curious if the added range is just in the sporty end, or a little in both directions.

I have the same kit from 3dm. I don't miss EDC at all. Ohlins DFV is great stuff

I'm in the same boat! But I don't want to give up EDC.. and even though I have 116K on my suspension, I can feel the difference between settings. On my Macan S, which had PASM, I couldn't feel the suspension setting difference, hence I cherish the EDC in M3. I'm surprised that by now, no ones has offered a rebuild service on these or other companies made replacement shocks. Bilstein is the only one and too expensive.

I am just starting to look so everything is up in the air
I bought the car thinking I was going to become a track junkie ... But I have only had 1 track day with the m3
and then after we had a baby, my wife won't let me just go and leave her alone while I go and drive around in circles

So I don't need something track oriented
I would still like the car to handle at least as well as on stock suspension.
Lower just a bit for the aesthetics.
Having written this out, i guess keeping EDC function would be good. But not a must

Evolve is set to release some Bilstein EDC based dampers.
Contacting shops that rebuild shocks (Eg, PSI in Sonoma) could be an economical option to renew the life on factory hardware.
