i don't understand how its carb legal... i'm thinking about all the other components like fuel hoses, charcoal filters ventilation, the intake is clearly not oem... its a lot to package in a s2k.
i'd be curious to talk to the owner. it might not be impossible, but surely a daunting task.
Ya, hats off to that guy!
Impressive, determined, ingenious…

where is the charcoal filter ventilation? I couldn't find it in the pic I took above.

K&N Intake for 06 Viper is CARB Legal.

100% the extra effort involved to make it CARB legal with all the emissions equipment from the Viper. Impressive to say the least. I can't imagine how many hours spent learning about emissions equipment...

i'm just throwing out the obvious observations... looks like he has added some extensions on the filters as well...

smoging my desert truck has become a huge pain in the ass... more than a few shops get under the truck and start pulling at the hoses, some shops just tell me no, and i've been scrutinized over the oem intake resonator being inverted...
i finally found a lazy "star" station. they check everything, but i feel like they want me to pass, rather than try to find a way to fail me.

regardless, getting all that into a s2k is a huge feat.

I notice similar for BAR stickers, sometimes the referee will be more lenient than others for "clearance items" etc etc.

Really annoying. IE. S52 headers on OBD1 M50 swap in e30 is sometimes allowed even with an EGR block off plate and other times it's fail.

Time to start sharing Black Friday sale items?

I just picked up this NOCO Boost XL lithium jump starter to carry in my new rig (my truck was recently stolen :mad0260:). Only place I could find a sale price on it was Turner.

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-641109-noco-gb50-xl-1500a-lithium-jump-starter/
Antigravity has pretty good sales on their jump starters a few times a year as well. I'm happy with mine.

40% off right now. https://antigravitybatteries.com/products/micro-starts/xp-10-hd/
Just picked up an Aim Solo2 DL... Not on sale but it's pretty funny that you can load any logo you want for start up.

A lap of my cruise thru wine country last Sunday.

Only 6 cars gridded for the last session and 2 of them left the track right away.

25 minutes of trying to repeat the lines I was just shown, with zero traffic….so fun.

Nice and smooth!

Open track is nice and a great opportunity to try new things. But I always hate that feeling when I'm on track all alone and then I get that sinking feeling…did I run the checkered flag? Am I THAT guy? 🤣

Love it! I kind of regret not doing the last session but I was content with having fun so I didn't want to chance it.

Watching my lines, I'm early apexing too much haha. I forgot what it is to drive Sonoma.
I'm just scared when I see walls. I'll stay in beginner forever at Sonoma!

lol cruising at 60MPH
Hey track rats, looking to start creating some content and I'm wondering what camera mounts you guys recommend for both track use and spirited back roads/mountain driving. Initially, I'm just looking for something that will hold my iphone well, until I can get a go-pro or similar. Would a headrest mount work best? Which ones do you guys use/recommend? I've done some research but there's so many options it's staggering. Thanks!

This is the best phone/cam mount I've found, the phone holder attaches via the standard 1/4" threaded port. It's rated for >90lbs. Insanely stable video even on bumpy tracks. It's just big, there's also a 3" suction model.

More importantly... I finally found a full PFC Z54 kit!!! No more knockback or bullshit, just one less excuse for being slow.

I'd recommend looking at a 360 camera like the Insta360 One X2 or X3. The footage they can capture is amazing and u can pan in post production to get some great vids not possible with a normal action cam.

Unfortunately the seller didn't notice that 2 of the pistons are damaged badly and the calipers are unusable in their current state... I got extra lucky though and snagged a second set of calipers from a very friendly forum member <3.

I'm hoping that the seller pays for the rebuild/pistons :mad0259: Planning a rebuild while on baby duty and stoked to run these soon!

Also, for those interested, the PFC kit is over a pound lighter per side than the Stoptech ST40R Trophy kit without pads! With pads they're about even... I did realize that (assuming my math is correct) the thermal mass of the 372x32 rotors is slightly less than that of the 355x35 rotors but I'm sure it's negligible and no knockback/ever lasting pads makes up for it!

And... Some brake porn!

Great BBK, you'll be very happy with them ;)
Some footage from yesterday (in car and Catalyst). Managed a PB despite a few mistakes and a car that likes to bog down coming out of mid-speed corners in the mid-RPM range. I know there’s another 1-2 seconds I could reach on stock suspension but going MCS next week so I’ll never know for sure! Also got a chance to drive first two sessions in the rain which was a first, did all with no traction which was a fun learning experience.
