gnx wrote15k km 2008, wow! Congrats to the M3 mate. What island did you buy it from? These just came off of a new to me e93M3 produced in Aug 2008.
Three oil changes since new break in service at 1100 klms, next oil change at 10200 klms in 2017 and third last in 2021 at 15000 klms.
Upper obviously the right one in each pic.

gnx wroteLove the place, been on Crete many times. You live there too?Chania, Crete.
Cheers
Edit: Saw on your sign that Athens is you. Not a bad place either although the Cyklades is the main place for me to hang around...
Since i had the rod bearings changed, I wanted to do the engine mounts as well. Even though the car has less than 10000 miles it still is over 14 years old.
They looked fine, no tears but if you compare to a brand new one there is a 5-6 millimeter difference.

gnx wroteSignificant shrinkage. Have they been anywhere near the pool? Or is it due to 14 years of S65 compression?Since i had the rod bearings changed, I wanted to do the engine mounts as well. Even though the car has less than 10000 miles it still is over 14 years old.

2011 @ 64k miles
Pity the bearings are covered in oil, it somewhat masks them.
But otherwise, they look typical for the tin/alu bearings, relatively ok ish.

I have them. Can take a different pic if you want. That is the one I was sent originally.
Wow. Thanks for posting,
clubsport.m3!
Those are BMW rod bearings, right?

clubsport.m3 wroteThanks for sharing! Are those mains almost done or do you think they could go another 100k?
For the main, complete engine rebuild or another way ?
clubsport.m3 wroteInteresting. And you continue with OEM bearings all around?2011 BMW e92 M3, rod bearings are 55.000km and main bearings 215.000 km.
Replaced out of maintenance. Both OEM bmw bearings.
Hard life. 200 laps nurburgring per year in the last 3 years.
Thx! Yes, what i removed are OEM BMW bearings.
Going back in are ACL STD bearings and OEM mains. I didn't do a journal, i do regularly post on Instagram (@clubsport.m3). Maybe i update my topic when I have the time.
The mains are deffinately through, some went through a 2nd or 3rd layer already. I don't think they would have survived another season.

Some of the rod bearings don't look great though, would you be interested in doing a quick little experiment on at least 1 of the worst rod bearings?

Serviced my 2011 BMW E90 M3 rod bearings today! 120,127 miles. Doesn't look too bad, what are your thoughts?
Yea not too bad, typical of the alu/tin/copper bearings.
Good to see that with high mileage.
