Okusa e90 is back to schedule programming .

Been building race cars for the past 8 years , never had a car not make it to its first track day .

Alt decided to shit the bed packing it on the trailer , put a brand new alt probably built by ray charles and signed off by Stevey wonder. Cuz the power post on the back changed genders and became a ground and became a smoke machine .

I guess that was a sign to call it a wrap and live to see another day.

I’m pretty sure we haven’t been talking to Mike for years. The original roast beef was replaced by a GPT.

Literally everything is better than CSF.
Hahaaa ok then. How about the do88 steering cooler? Any better than stock?
Everything from D088 is better than stock other than maybe the oil cooler as nobody has solved that conundrum any better than OEM.

.
Curious regarding the oil cooler comment.
Isn't both the CSF and do88 oil cooler core larger than OEM?

Yeah. DO88 oil cooler is superior to stock for sure. Adds like a quart of oil capacity
It is larger but empirical evidence (AIM data) proves that 1 extra quart add zero benefit.
here is an interesting thing to ponder... which cooler would be more valuable if it actually brought temps down significantly; water or oil?
i know the two are somewhat sympathetic (if oil is hot, water is going to be hot), but which one has a greater impact on performance? what does the car look at more to start pulling power?

when i encounter a chat bot on instagram, i usually ask them what they think about speedholes and it usually stumps them... they don't know what to say.

oil cooler would be the first change, then worry about water

Is there any demand there? When I did the swap into my 1 series I had to solve the oil cooler issue since the OEM M3 one didn't fit in the non-1M front bumber.

I couldn't find anything to do anything other than OEM replacement so I had some adapters made up to adapt to AN so I could use an off-the-shelf cooler with AN fittings. They've been perfect for several years of track events.

I have a couple sets laying around still, and could have a few more made if anyone wants to try out something other than an OEM drop-in.

There is demand among us track rats. StripclubDJ's user avatarStripclubDJ has a plan for my car that involves something very similar to what you describe. However, we are waiting to implement until after the first post-build shakedown day which should be in the next 3 weeks. So, any additional thought you have would be appreciated.
What oil cooler was used that is better than do88?

Doesn’t matter. None of them provide any benefit over OEM.

back in my EVO days, the OEM rad was used for a few time attack builds. few rarely bothered to upgrade since it was just about that 1 lap.

not related to an oil cooler, but none the less an example of a part that sometimes doesn't need to be upgraded.
Yup decided to just do the do88 DCT and steering coolers and VTT reservoir. Will keep the water and oil coolers stock. I think you are probably better off just doing the Oil diverter valve. Which I would do but my car is still daily driven in the winter. Would need an inline thermostat.

I race in the spring and fall in New England, so really not a problem for me. Race bikes in the summer.

why do you value oil over water? to protect against heat sheer? longevity? or does it seem to be a better job of cooling the engine?
can you elaborate a little bit?
