Did motor mounts and an oil change over the weekend. The oil looks clean but there are silver metal shaving in the oil filter. Should I be worried? The car has a over sized drain plug, so I assume it was tapped.

That does look like it could be remnants from tapping the drain hole.
Took a break, now back to working on the E92. Fixed my driveshaft clunking noise.

Can you describe the clunking noise you had from drive shaft?

Decided to do the OEM exhaust mod, when I removed my exhaust, and realized it was already modded. But they did it wrong, so I decided to just weld in two pipes. My weld looks like crap 😂, but I am very happy with the sound.

I was impressed and surprise how well it handled in the canyons, even in this horrible condition. Can’t wait till I get this thing right. It’s crazy how every M3 is special in a different way!

She’s looking better for sure, this is going to be an interesting thread to watch.
Looking a lot better, PS I like your YouTube channel. Some Fresh OE fenders would really turn this car around

Thanks appreciate it, yeah 💯 a OE hood as well.
I guess I have a rebuild on my hands, #1 Injector was stuck open and ring wash the cylinder 😭.

That sucks, hopefully the block is ok for a bore and hone. It was probably bore scored for a while. This happens to M5/6 of that era too.
FWIW a buddy of mine has had good luck sending a good core into Carbahn for a 4.2L rebuild. Spendy, but there are few options for a rebuild lately unless you have the skills to do it yourself. As long as it didn’t spin the mains and crack the block, there is hope.

Thanks appreciate it, tear down coming soon on my winter break. I was looking at Carbahn website also. I wonder how much they charge for bore and hone.
You might see who Mporium uses for their machine work as well. I’m not sure if Carbahn will just bore and hone. I’ve heard Lang can do the work but have no personal experience with them.

FWIW I was pleasantly surprised how well the Carbahn engine turned out given the condition of the core that was sent in. Turn around time was pretty reasonable too. My buddy was told the rebuild was indeed the core he sent in.

Thanks so much so far , I am planning on doing the work myself. 15 years Diesel tech. I’m am more worried about the block. I heard not a lot of shop has the proper equipment to do it.
