Does something like ATX30-HD work for E9x M?
Don't really care for the RE-START feature, plus the extra weight and cost saving

It can however need to get a bracket and need to modify the battery distribution block. Credit tkrid3r , they made post showing how its done

When you start adding up all the weight of the bracket and battery you arent far off the traditional H6 from AG.

Could you explain the difference between the size between h6 and h8 for e92 m3 and 40 vs 60ah? Will be using a battery tender.

OEM fitment is the main difference. Both H6 & H8 will work without issue.

For e9x platform H8/Group-49 spec is a 1:1 fitment with existing hardware and batt compartment ==> drop-in, secure, connect, code/register, go.

Generally, H6/Group-48 alternative is a tad lighter and dimensionally smaller which means additional and/or modified hardware necessary to secure in batt compartment. Aside from that, performance, aH options available are similar.

Given Bimmers 'power hungry' accessories, 60aH rating recommended to ensure longer-term start-up reliability, especially during 'extended' non-operation periods.

CCA is the same for both 60A H6 & H8, only the battery's footprint (dimensions) is different.

We typically recommend the H6 since the E9X battery hold down cleat is adjustable to fit both types and allows the end user to save a little $$.

Hey Tom, any modification required/aftermarket bracket to get the h6 to fit? Could you pm me a quote for the h6 in 40 and 60ah?

The E9X M3 bracket has different slots to accommodate either a H6 or H8 battery, no modifications needed.

Wouldn't recommend a 40A on a street driver, use the 60A. PM incoming.
