I used a file. The camera housing is made from aluminium and is very soft. It took me ~30 minutes to do, only because I took my time and did lots of trial fits.
Hello, I have the same plans as you on an E90.
I have now done everything so far and also glued the camera into the housing.

Unfortunately, I can't get the handle into the tailgate, no matter what I do.

Do you have any tips for this :-(, everything else is already wired and connected.

Did you file away the camera housing as much as I showed in my pictures?

Yes, I edited it so that it fits in.

I then glued the camera to the trunk button with strong adhesive.

Together it does not fit into the recess (glued).

Or was that my mistake?

SaNGRia are you still doing coding ? I just did the retrofit but something is acting with my coding, i cant communicate with the TRSVC as expected. but after default coding the E84 PDC it should open the camera anyways right ?

after coding when i put reverse, it goes to the pdc mode but without camera and does not show the radar measurements either...

what do you think ?

I have to look at it.
Hello! So I decided to do this retrofit too since I have retrofitted CIC in my non-idrive E90

I've seen people having issues with non-oem way with autofocustech emulators only engaging the first time you go to reverse so I just wanted to bust this myth that there really is this issue with these emulators having issues with some of the CIC versions as mine is C0A and I had those issues, that is why I decided to go OEM way.
Also you absolutely need to have E84 PDC as the standard PDC in E90 was from E87 which does not support TRSVC. So you only get PDC sounds but no visuals on the idrive.

I already have TRSVC module with rear + top view from E70. I have camera from F10 and a chineese handle that I've already had from my CCD camera retrofit via mr12volt carplay box. Now I am waiting for harness from china.
The only thing I am scared of is getting the whole handle with F10 camera to the trunk. Is is really that complicated and hard as it sounds from these posts?

Yes, it is really tough, I couldn't fit mine in yet

I'm already about to get a Dremel and open the thing

I'm still fighting trying to do the coding, I did code the E84 PCD, but for some reason my CIC is not accepting when I try to code this :

MACRO_PDC
aktiv
MACRO_REARVIEW
aktiv
RVC_CIC
wert_21 (FBAS1 Pin 18+ Pin 28- Pin 27 Shield)
MACRO_L6_PARKMENU
aktiv
PDC_DIRECTION
vertikal

Apparently it codes, but when i reload the CIC, it shows the old options still.

Then when I switch to the reverse, the PDC screen shows on the CIC but the colored radar is not showing anything, and if I switch off the reverse, the beeping still stays active. So idk if is something related to the coding on the PDC or its because the CIC is not accepting the coding properly..

I had some issues putting the chineese camera handle in the trunk, and what helped me was pushing to the plastic parts that hold the switch together as it makes the assembly a bit thinner. Then it went to the car much easier, maybe the same trick will work with the oem camera too.

I am not sure why the coding resets after you code it, what profile in NCS expert did you use? Also did you add 3AG to VO in CAS and NFRM and then SG_codeiren PDC module with the files attached in the first post?

You see the radar without the colors because L6_parkmenu is not aktive and you still hear beeps after switching out of reverse because the E84 PDC is programmed to either switch of when you drive off OR when you disable it with the PDC button you can retrofit if you haven't already.

Possibly tried coding in "Expertenmodus" instead of "Manipulation", as that's exactly what'll happen. So long as you've still got the .MAN file you coded from then it's just a case of SG_CODIEREN straight to the CIC and you'll be sorted

You nailed it! lol

Thank you very much!

I did on Manipulation and now everything works fine!

I had to take the camera out, clean all the silicone out, put the handle in place and fit the camera from the back, with the fresh silicone on it and align it before the silicone dries.

There was no way to fit it with the camera in place, at least not with the chinese switch I got.

But after that, everything worked perfect.

Yeah, it happens, and I know from experience!
Update: Five years later, the OEM camera system continues to perform flawlessly, with no need for part replacements or repairs. This long-term reliability underscores the value of choosing genuine OEM components as the most dependable solution.

Excellent to hear
Got all the parts for mine, just need time to install it all now.
BTW, the cost of the genuine, and Aliexpress copy, looms has doubled in recent months for some unknown reason :confused2 fortunately I got all my parts before that happened.
With the files attached is that how you calibrated the camera so the lines start after the bumper and not on it?

Your camera position also plays a role. Since you are placing the camera on a non oem housing, you have to make sure camera pointing the correct way. After that yeah calibration will adjust the lines correctly if you follow the path i shared.
I installed the camera yesterday. I couldn't get the trunk handle in place with the camera attached so I put the trunk handle in the trunk without the camera and then I popped the camera in place from behind. If you get the hole for the camera the right size it will be stuck in place thanks to the rubber seal. Then you can apply a bit of waterproof glue from behind.
I still haven't done the calibration but other than that is is working fine and it is so much better than the MMI solution I had before, as the chineese camera would sometimes just not turn on or it would flicker. This just works everytime.
I have a 2010 E60 5 series, with Factory PDC and CIC, and a combox retrofit. i got the TRSVC for Topview from an E70 LCI (2011), the cameras from the same car (3 cameras, 2 under mirrors, and 1 rear), i ran all the wiring according to the diagrams, the camera is not working, i got a replacement camera module thinking that it may be the problem, but i'm still getting the same result. i checked and rechecked my wiring, and tried to read the module using ISTA+ (the TRSVC comes up with 2 errors).

I cant "SG Codieren" the TRSVC because i cant add the $3AG (Reversing Camera) or $3AH (Reversing Camera And Top View) option to the E60 VO in NCSexpert, how do i solve that?

when i use NCSexpert to code CIC for MACRO_L6_PARKMENU Active, my PDC stops working.

any help and guidance is appreciated.
