Hey everyone!

I’ve been on these forums on/off for over 10 years. I occasionally pop in to see what’s new or look up explanations for error codes. But there’s one thing that seemed to draw my attention back to this site more than anything… an ancient 2014 listing of a very special car in Hawaii - Brewster Green E92 M3 ZCP.

As a BMW nerd who moonlights as a Porsche fan, this one checked every imaginable box. Perhaps one too many boxes (iDrive). I always told myself that I’d find this car and bring it back to the mainland. Fast forward many years, and the day has finally come thanks to some friends in Hawaii. The car now belongs to a good friend of mine right around the corner.

I was able to get in contact with the owner, who’s had it since 2014, and we agreed to a deal shortly thereafter. A couple days later, the car was loaded onto a 747 and arrived at LAX that night. Here are a couple photos from the tarmac.

It’s headed straight to MRF Engineering for a rod bearing service, and then I’ll get some proper photos.

Enjoy!

Congrats! Curious, why MRF?
Sad to see it leave Hawaii. Used to always see it in downtown Honolulu. Beautiful in person. Congrats!
Man, this reminds me of the dedication I showed to obtaining my Moonstone E92. I respect the patience and assertiveness you showed to try and find the car you always wanted. You're Grayson, right?

The search is the most fun part! The car belongs to Grayson, who’s a good friend with similar car interests. I’ve had my fair share of E9Xs, but the timing wasn’t quite right for me on this one. Once I found the car, I let a few close friends know and he stepped up. It’ll stay with him until he’s ready to sell to me.

Malek is without a doubt the leading expert on S65s in California, probably the US. I’ve taken multiple of my own cars to him and dozens of friend’s/client’s cars. Best service and a great guy.
So this M3 has traveled at about 620 mph. I believe that may be a speed record.
Very cool! I assume most cars shipped to/from the US mainland to/from Hawaii go by ship? Curious if you'll share the cost to ship it via air cargo?

Kalitta Air 747 - that's certainly one way to get it to L.A. fast!

I googled mrf. Mixed reviews. Gl!
Amazing color.

MRF is the best. Malek is the only mechanic I have allowed to touch my M3.

Congrats
What a cool spec! I didn't know this color was even out there on the E9x.

This is the only one (at least in N. America)! Ironically another 1 of 1 E92 surfaced about the same time, the Messing Metallic car currently in the FS section.

I had an iffy experience tbh but solid work but anyone can be a “perfectionist”
More pictures please! For posterity :)
