Today my hood latch cable broke from the inside of the cabin, I went and got a replacement.. time to replace it, any tips to make this easier will be appreciated lol
Replaced my cracked rotors with an f80 set-up I pieced together out of used girodisc rotors from the f80 forum, used uprights from ebay, and new brembo calipers from rockauto. Tested it out at Sebring yesterday afternoon and it held up well, using the same PFC pad compound 331/332. One downside is that my square set of 260M rears don't fit on the front, no issues with 18" EC-7s. I'll have to recruit the ZCPs on the e90 for street duty and it can run the 260Ms.
Put on my 6th lip:bonk: Seems to be an annual event for me on these shit Cali roads!

smokinjoe64 wroteLove mine. Still needs a little work though.New Install - CANChecked gauge/display
Offers a plethora of CAN info/data, logging, customization of ‘pages’ and widgets to display.
Early Observations - ‘Nice to Haves’So-far so-good...only loaded CANChecked default e9x 'pages' [prelim examples below].
- CAN Data - 100’s of customizable configs to edit ‘page’ displays. Also capable (optional) to connect external sensors. Data rich displays compared to OBD II plug-in type gauges
- Fitment - “OE like” appearance
- Display - Full color; all pages, widgets all editable
- Vent - Retains airflow; ~50-60%
- Fault codes - Provides quick review access and code clearing capable (if appropriate)
- Interface - Config display touch screen directly or via USB Mode; works equally well with Mac or PC
Plan to carve out some time soon to sort/ set-up unique config preferences [i.e. pages, colors, widget content, etc to be displayed on-screen].
BTW ignore my screen physical appearance...need to redo screen protector
inoizink wroteThat sucks big time. Patience and a couple pieces of 1/8 inch rod iron from Home Depot that you can put a little bend on at the tip. If looking at the latch from the front of the hood, which you will be, the back latch to push back is behind the front part of the latch. Also pop out the grills, can’t do this with them installed, you’ll scratch them up.Today my hood latch cable broke from the inside of the cabin, I went and got a replacement.. time to replace it, any tips to make this easier will be appreciated lol
mjn77 wroteConcur...capabilities, options are impressive

Same here, need time to sort individualized configs of on-screen 'pages', colors, widget content, etc.
Surprised to find 81 'pages' possible to configure

How many 'pages' have you modified or created?
Any issues overall?
smokinjoe64 wroteI only use just the one page!!Concur...capabilities, options are impressive

But all the other vents are still operational, so the car still stays cool in hot weather.

I can attest to acceptable function...works fine since SoCal temps are ~90F these days.
A belated Christmas present to myself just arrived...
It came packaged extremely well, unharmed despite UPS denting a corner of the box, and installation was a breeze! The inside was reasonably clean but I scrubbed it down further with microfiber and compressed air to get out what little debris remained. I worried about compatibility with my NRW fuel rail but no issues there. Startup and idle was uneventful but when I shifted out of first at the end of my street I got an engine malfunction!
Some whistling and RPM hunting proceeded so I drove back and took a video but couldn't see anything wrong. Shut off the engine and turned it back on, whistling/hunting subsided and no more errors! First drive was fantastic, car immediately feels smoother on/off throttle and the sound made @ 5k downshifts is unbelievable. I'm thinking it was maybe related to idle air and/or some fueling changed? I will continue to monitor and report back.

Went to the mall.
There's a Tesla store at the mall in case you were wondering about the other cars.

Ohlins R&T are “settled”. My car is a ZCP with EDC, made the decision to go without EDC for my 130k mile suspension refresh. This setup is a huge improvement. I run full soft front and rear. Even with stiffer swift springs the ride quality is better than stock, maybe comparable to EDC at the first setting. Even non-enthusiast passengers think the ride is better.
For height I went 7mm lower front and rear than the ohlins suggestions.
I’ve yet to get an alignment, and I have some new endlinks from SPL to put in eventually.

E92Bean wroteNice write up, curious what else you did besides the R&Ts for your suspension refresh? Also, what is the difference in spring rates with the Swift springs vs what came with the Öhlins? What end links are you currently running, stock? I guess they are binding? My car is a ZCP with EDC, made the decision to go without EDC for my 130k mile suspension refresh.
darren p. wroteUnfortunately I can’t speak to the spring rates as I bought the setup used. The text on the fronts is “070” and the rears are “150”. The seller thought the OE springs were too soft for the track, but threw in the ohlins springs too.Nice write up, curious what else you did besides the R&Ts for your suspension refresh? I also installed vorshlag camber plates. I swapped in new OEM rear shock mount bushings, but otherwise nothing else. Other than me wanting coilovers, my OE shocks were leaking a lot and worn.
Endlinks are OEM, I think they’re binding since I get a noise occasionally.
