powerbait wroteThat's pretty cool. Could you please link me to the calipers?Replaced my cracked rotors with an f80 set-up I pieced together out of used girodisc rotors from the f80 forum, used uprights from ebay, and new brembo calipers from rockauto. Tested it out at Sebring yesterday afternoon and it held up well, using the same PFC pad compound 331/332. One downside is that my square set of 260M rears don't fit on the front, no issues with 18" EC-7s. I'll have to recruit the ZCPs on the e90 for street duty and it can run the 260Ms.

Calipers are Brembo XTRA FALD32 and FALD52 (the 'D' denotes black, they also come in silver 'E' and yellow 'H') These are the same calipers that come in FCP's kit but considerably cheaper. Though it looks like RockAuto has already bumped the price and the black rears are not available. You can also find them new on ebay, one seller had some for like $620 a while back. Looks like I got these just at the right time.

Did an interior clean up over last weekend to prep the car for nicer weather. Still have a Mr12Volt unit to install that I never got around to. My other car had to be dropped off to the shop to replace an aftermarket spring that had to be recalled due to incorrect coil width, resulting in damage to the spring perch. Definitely playing with fire to be driving that car around like that. Shop was a little bit behind, so M3 got to be the DD for the week, again.
I'm approaching a total of 9 years in E92 M3s, and 7 years in this particular car. Always makes me evaluate if it's time to move on to something more modern. Was glancing at the G8x cars, and they're raging over some new turbos. Manual cars with 60-130 times in the 6 second range with pump gas is insane. Then you listen to it and wonder how something that fast can sound so boring...
Also, quite a few F90s are showing up around the area and I have followed them around in traffic. Realized that I put heavy emphasis on a car sounding great and being fun even when you aren't going 100% throttle. The closest modern car to doing that is the one I bought last year, an F-Pace SVR. With an x-pipe and exhaust valve mods, that car is now imitating a W204 C63. To replace the M3 with something else as enchanting, I'm looking at a car well into the 6 figures these days. At this point, I'm now looking at doing custom interior and exterior on my E92 to really make it special and timeless.

Shrike360 wroteI just pulled the trigger on a F90 last month and it’s the best car I’ve ever driven. I was also looking at RS6, RS7, Panama GTS, and other 100k cars and I realized probably would have been disappointed compared to what I get in the M5.
I drove my M3 to work yesterday for the first time since and had the biggest smile on my face with windows down and revs to 8k. Everything happens so fast in the M5 you can only really enjoy it a couple seconds at a time. I think these two cars complement each other well.
Shrike360 wroteYou nailed it. I have a G82 CSL. It's nice. Modern. Chassis is anvil solid. Brakes ceramic.Realized that I put heavy emphasis on a car sounding great and being fun even when you aren't going 100% throttle.
But it doesn't give you the drama and a tingling of the ear drums at all RPMs, especially at street speeds. S65 DCT 3-2 downshift blip is so underrated. ITBs, baby.
Sub-$250K, the only other car that has this quality is a dry dumped, NA flat 6 from GT3 land or perhaps an NA V10 from Audi.
Enjoy.

You need to come out to Sebring, there's a TNIA April 23rd.
E92Bean wroteCongrats! It's quite amazing how much comfort and handling improve with the Ohlins. I remember driving my friend's E90 M3 EDC and being surprised how harsh EDC Comfort was compared to my Ohlins.Ohlins R&T are “settled”. My car is a ZCP with EDC, made the decision to go without EDC for my 130k mile suspension refresh. This setup is a huge improvement. I run full soft front and rear. Even with stiffer swift springs the ride quality is better than stock, maybe comparable to EDC at the first setting. Even non-enthusiast passengers think the ride is better.

First attended LBGP in 2009 with debut of e92 M3 GT2 ALMS race. Since then, gone every year possible.
Typically occurs on my b-day or that wkend timeframe as well...so great excuse for good-times, celebration at an awesome event
smokinjoe64 wroteI like hanging out on the upper deck of Bubba Gump’s. You get to hear them drop gears for the fountain turn and then mash the gas towards the back half! The sounds of race engines bouncing off the buildings is insane! The RLL E92 M3 GT3 is what got me into BMW’s. Still my favorite BMW race car to this day.+1

Well. This weekend went for a drive and then decided to start working on upgrading to bavsound stage 1, carbon leather swap from titan shadow.
Today, got surprised with early delivery on almost new LCI center console shifter trim and OEM full M Performance Carbon Fiber Bits.
Slowly getting to OEM plus

Bigtriece wroteYou should have both! My ZCP’s are fall/winter, with PS4S. Then the ML10’s are the 200tw track/summer wheels.

Guess I’ll settle for Oem splitters or replica gts.
Not totally sold on the m splitters on alpine white car.
Maybe there’s a a perfect center piece to completent the side splitters.
Bigtriece wroteThey’re 18x10.5 square, with 275/35 Falken Rt615k tires. That was on OE ZCP suspension, haven’t had them on yet with my ohlins.Looks great what wheel/tire sizes?
