Hey guys I have a 2011 e90 m3, all my suspension is shot now, the boots are popped lol. Car still drives great and handles great but I want new suspension all around.

Main things for me is:
-I want to lower the car a little
-I don’t track, I daily drive the car
-I want to keep the EDC

I saw some people only getting h&R springs and keeping original suspension, but I need to buy new suspension anyways since they’re all shot. What’s yalls suggestion?

If I were in your position, I'd get the EVOLVE Bilstein EDC dampers, and whatever spring lowers it to your preference. I have heard Swift is a good option.

Another spring option, if you only want to lower a teeny bit, is the OEM competition package springs.

And OE for everything else.

Personally, I'd recommend adding camber plates and monoballs. Really tightens up the steering feel and front end handling, makes the car feel more sporty and fun. However, this adds to your budget and does have a slight increase in NVH, mostly from monoballs (barely noticeable, but it's there).
I'm running the swift spec R springs with the Evolve EDC dampers. I'm very happy with the setup for the street, though the dampers in mode 1 (no light on) are pretty underdamped. I drive nearly all the time in mode 2(1 light) and when driving hard in the curves I'm in mode 3.
The dampers sit pretty low in the front- about 3/4 inch lower than the oem dampers by my eye. I love the car's stance, personally.
I just pulled the trigger on B6s (for EDC) and Eibach Pro Kit based on some feedback on other threads. It looks like the combo ends up sitting about the same as ZCP height (I have a non-ZCP), but we'll see! Probably will be a while before they get here and I get an install arranged. And I'm burning time trying to figure out what other suspension parts I'd like to refresh since i'm over 90K miles. Previously tracked the car, but now have a new toy, so this is just a fun daily.

Do you have some pics you could post? Would love to see how this looks!
I know you didn't ask, but in case helpful to anyone, here's the thread i referenced w/ some pics of the B6/Eibach Pro Kit. https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1874241. It's only a few threads down in the Suspension subforum.
swift lowering coils for me on stock etc set up for now. Eventually I will be going with ohlins or nitron

my car was a comp but the swift feel better, sold the stock coils for 50 localy.

Currently running Bilstein B16 Damptronic w/EDC since summer `22 with lowered ride height and paired with gas monoballs up-front.
Cannot speak to Evolve variant; however, totally pleased with Damptronic set-up.
Particularly like 'the kit' since all parts/components are 100% designed, engineered as a 'system' to work together as opposed to hodgepodge, mix of different AM components.
IMO Bilstein's = Fan-f'in-tastic performance, ride, quality & results
Enjoy and appreciate flexibility to retain and alter 'ride' characteristics at push of button...as road conditions change ;)
  • Typically use Comfort for street, Normal for highway/spirited drives
  • Don't daily, rather quite a bit of SoCal spirited and cyn runs
  • Autocoss a few times annually [occasionally use Firm setting]

Thanks for sharing this. I'm assuming the B16 kit lowers the car (i.e. from ZCP stock height)? Or can it be set to OEM ZCP height?

Adjustable lowering range of 10 mm to 35 mm for both the front and rear.

Is that 10-35mm from "standard" spring ride height (i.e. not ZCP)?
I believe 10mm is about what ZCP lowers the car from standard, but don't quote me on that. So you could be at, or slightly lower than, ZCP height with that kit.

My understanding, installing on a ZCP vehicle effectively lowering range 0 mm (matching ZCP height) to 25 mm.
Some good but overly expensive options mentioned. The KW HAS setup allows you to keep your EDC shocks and provides an adjustable spring & collar. The best bang for the buck IMO and it’s not noisy like some of the others.
I'd opt for the Nitron Roadsport over the B16s. The Roadsports feel fantastic on the street and are fully compatible with EDC as well as fully supported in the US.

If you've ever had to make a Bilstein claim, you'll know what I mean.

These are great for daily and spirited canyon runs/light track use.

At ~ $8,900 - $9,700, fundamental question - - Roadsport electron R3 worth upwards ~3X the price compared to B16 Damptronic kit...??? :confused0068:

Boy are they making a killing on that kit. Holy cow. Even if we just call it $9K for the kit and divide by 4 corners - we get $2250 per corner!!! For the street. Not ALMS or Indy Car. Or in terms of M3 pricing about 24-30% of the value of the entire car. I love a great suspension (especially with a wide range of damping between comfort and handling i.e. individual bump and rebound adjustment) but it seems the world has gone stark raving bonkers mad. $29 per pound for Rib Eye steak at Costco and $2.2K per corner for E92 M3 suspension kit. Sorry to whine. What's next $10K Brembos? We are living through a unique point in American and world history. Brace for impact this summer things are gonna' get bumpy in late July through August and into early September...

I see a price of $4,995, about $1,400 more than the B16 Damptronic kit. Where are you getting $8,900+ from?

I don't think the RoadSports are $8-9k. They're realistically sub-$5k, even before camber plates, which honestly should be considered also.

TBH, I made the financially stupid move and bought Nitron R3s. My only real regret is the amount of money I spent, but I definitely don't regret the performance. They completely transformed the car.

But I also agree than Bilstein Customer Service is ass, even though they have an office in Poway (SoCal) area.

Brief internet search yielded following price ranges noted preciously [examples below].
> Price highly dependent on multiple SKU variants offered :confused2
Not doubting Nitron performance, quality or capabilities.
That said, unless 'use case' intended for more dedicated track oriented purposes, IMO comparatively overpriced for daily, spirited, canyon use [ie B16 Damptronic]...YMMV ;)

That $8,900+ price is for the R3 kit, not the Roadsport. The R3 is for serious track folks...
