Thats awesome! What are you going to do about the rear bumper?
I found a good used 1M bumper, picking it up tomorrow!

Nice score and local for the win!

Do you have any pics of the cut up quarter panels prior to grafting the arches on? I'm curious how you attach it at the side skirt area, that looks like the hardest part.

As of now I am leaning towards this.

That was the hardest part, I used some metal to cover the gaps.

This came out way better than I expected, spend the weekend doing my rear quarters!

Amazing work, can't wait to see it painted! Doesn't seem like its too bad especially now with the aftermarket flares. Definitely motivating to build a 1M clone S65 which I can see myself doing when time and space allow.

The 295/35s on the 10" look beefy, love it OGs with center caps are my fav wheels had them on my GTI back in the day. Were they flush or poking?

Edit: just watched the video, glad you are going for the 1M bumper support, hopefully that fixes the alignment between fender/bumper.

Thanks, they’re flush!
Decided to try some thing new so I painted the car in my garage. Would have had a even better result if I had a better air compressor.

Keep up the good work. It just keeps getting better and better.
Watched the video last night, you tricked me with the thumbnail...was pleasantly surprised to see you spraying red. What red is it?

Paint/body work is not my thing, can you wet sand it to get rid of the orange peel? Did you spray any clear coats? Sucks about the compressor but you make do with what you have. Looks way better than it did before you sprayed!

Is there a carbon roof upgrade for the 1 series?

Haha, it’s guards red single stage. I am going to try wet sanding and polishing first, if that doesn’t work I will probably rent a booth and do another coat. There’s a roof available from Europe, which I plan on doing after tuning and suspension.
This whole car is turning into a do it yourself project. Fitted some E92 exhaust.

Is that the Megan Supremo? I ran that on my car for a while, I think it is a great muffler for the price.

How's she running overall?

Yes it is, not bad at all for the price. So far it’s great, coming up on 3k miles on the engine. Waiting to get some better tires to open her up. Still have seen 8k rpm’s. Being patient this time.
