ahhh the sun reflecting off them in the other picture made me think motorsport.
The silver looks great
Finally got the parking brake boot custom made to match Alcantara of m performance bits and white cross stitching.

Last piece for interior is the GTS checkered sills.

This car was clearly warmed up properly and well maintained. Those look good for 140k IMO. Some debris deposits.. probably a couple long OCVs. Should give you decent confidence on the condition of the mains. Enjoy

Looks like the same photo posted twice somehow? For 138K miles on LCI bearings they look okay relatively speaking. However, a few of the lowers got my attention. In general rod bearings are not supposed to endure contact with the crank due to the oil film hydrostatic strength, but for an S65 we can throw that generality out since rod bearing wear for an S65 engine is normal due to the ultra tight clearances and 10W60 oil viscosity - on top of component tolerance stack up. Some of your lowers are worn past the tin and some of the substrate layers too. Very good job getting them replaced!! Kudos to you. Well done. Sleep better now. What brand of new replacement rod bearings and rod bolts did you go with?.

Got her back today! Swapped to F8x brakes with SS lines. Also installed ultimate clutch pedal, replaced OFHG, Coolant flush, Macht Schnell pulleys with new idlers and belts, clutch slave cylinder replaced, trans flushed. Feels and looks fantastic now.

I bought the car from a middle aged nurse who daily drove it everyday for 11 years. Said she never red lined it. I didn’t want to take a chance at 138k miles so decided to change them. But I’m more confident now that this car wasn’t driven hard based on the condition of the engine mounts, which were still in one piece.

Thank you!
I was expecting more wear on the uppers but the lowers seem worse.
I used BE bearings with ARP bolts.
Mr12volt going in, installed!

Installed second ordered customs wheels, rear end nearly spot on but i don't know what to do with front. One option to lower front end 20mm but there are too many speed bumps in new area, second option replace 235/40 R19 tyres to 265/35 R19. I miss that 4yrs ago black wheel+spacers setup.
Your rear is perfect but the front could go down a lil like ya said. I have EDC so I went with the KW Has kit. The adjustability is what I wanted. I live in LA and our roads are shit but I’m able to get around. I would recommend replacing the bumpstops if you do go lower. On the rare track days, I drop the front but DD I set it to the point my last knuckles prevent my hand from slipping in between arch and wheel. So maybe some coil overs would get you what you want by trying different heights.
Jus seein this...

Agreed. There are after market replacements available but not OEM originals I can find.

Holy Moly $450 for that shield⁉️ :bulge:
Scored a great condition OE shield recently on Ebay ($175)...they're still floatin' around, jus have to be persistent, patient.

Recently wrapped up a divorce last month and am in the process of moving into my new house. Was able to keep both my cars, thankfully.

Being able to finally garage the m340 with the M3 just feels so good.

Daily driving track guys. If you do the brass bushing upgrade on your calipers, don’t neglect to think about them for two years. #seized #back2rubber

Gave me the opportunity to refresh the calipers with new bleed hardware and rubber piston gaskets, in addition to reinstalling new rubber bushings. I also replaced the front caliper lines with ESS stainless lines which have a DOT stamp. I confirmed worn front bearings and will have the shop do all 4 corners, plus engine mounts and outer tie rods - getting all the tasks that require an alignment done at the same time. Also picked up an unmolested factory X pipe from another forum member and will get to that soon. Whew! Busy m3 weekend

I’d like one!
Inspired by @dj_dub , added some color to the engine bay along with CF Dinan strut brace. Pardon the dirty motor. ID plenum and intake up next.

Had some dash bits done by Natalie at NS Trim a few months back and finally got round to fitting them today.

Next up, will be to have the gearknob done again. Someone else did that and Natalie says they can deliver a better result without doubt.

And the steering wheel is looking rough now.
