I got 12.9 @ 110mph when I tried mine on the road, but the 60ft was a poor 2.62s.

footie wroteA 2.63 60"???? If I got that at the track I could get a high 11's. But Like sticky said G tech is not comparable to actually going to a track.I got 12.9 @ 110mph when I tried mine on the road, but the 60ft was a poor 2.62s.

Sticky wroteSorry guys for being very green behind the ears here on this one as I have never being to a drag strip in my life and don't really understand the whole roll-out and 60ft, 330ft, 1/8mile readings.Using what? Gtech? Vbox? This is NOT even close to the same thing as being at an actual drag strip.
The system I used was with my new iphone, Dynolicious software. I got the following readings from it
0-10mph @ 0.78s
0-20mph @ 1.58s
0-30mph @ 2.45s
0-40mph @ 3.02s
0-50mph @ 3.97s
0-60mph @ 4.71s
0-70mph @ 5.87s
0-80mph @ 7.12s
0-90mph @ 8.93s
0-100mph @ 10.87s
30ft @ 30.2mph - 2.62s
330ft @ 65.1mph - 5.65s
1/4mile in 12.93 @ 110.8mph.
I think I might have lifted slightly approaching the 1/4mile as it read a maximum speed of 111.2mph.
Maybe someone can explain all the figures, especially the 30ft and 330ft, how can it show slower to 30mph than the first acceleration figures (0-30mph @ 2.45s vs 30ft @ 30.2mph - 2.62s) & (0-70mph @ 5.87s vs 330ft @ 65.1mph - 5.65s).
footie wroteI wouldn't know where to start as I never have used the software you are using. I dont know if theres a drag strip near you, but I recommend taking her there for a couple of passes. That way you have and idea of what your car runs with you driving it. Theres a lot of variables when drag racing.. elevation, whether conditions, track prep, tires, and driver skills just to name a few. Once again this is NOT a drag car but it pretty fun to do it and spank the pants of corvette drivers that cant drive...LOL:clap:Sorry guys for being very green behind the ears here on this one as I have never being to a drag strip in my life and don't really understand the whole roll-out and 60ft, 330ft, 1/8mile readings.

something not right with a 2.62 60'. i used to bracket race and when i used my dd for fun ('01 bug) it could easily muster a 2.3 - 2.4 leaving at idle. you would have to have some serious wheel spin to do that...
thefly wroteWell I did get a fair bit of wheelspin when I tried LC so chose to use D4 and control the throttle myself. that program is pretty good.. i used it on my SUV and it nailed the time and HP.. compaired with stock HP from factory.. and my 1/8th mile time ive actually done on the track...
ive been planning to use this software on the M.. but just haven't yet...
here is the software in action....
on a side note.... the MPH to his trap and time doesn't seem correct.... hooking up he should get a lil bit lower of a MPH... and having a lower 60' time of 2.0.. would put him in the low 12s with a 110 or 109mph trap.. and thats not rite....
also.. about the trap speeds compared to the 0-xx speeds.... drag strips measure a average speed from one point to the next to get your mph trap speed.... so the speed indicated isnt your true peak speed....

KINGLEH,
Thanks for explaining some of the questions for me. I think some of the errors in time are down to not having a proper mount at the time. I simply wedged it into the seat (where the back rest meets the seat base). I am looking for something to mount it properly, have you any ideas on that.
P.S.
The one thing I did find interesting is how smooth the graph was with the DCT when the shifts occurred, in fact you couldn't tell where they were.

The iphone is good, but can be way off... huge thread of people testing it out on e90post.
eagletangogreen wroteThat's one of many reasons why I like the new M3 so much... I own a blown 600hp Charger and love the acceleration but want everything else that the M is. When I heard reports of mid-12 1/4 times it sold me that much more !Thanks.
For being such a Sick track car I am pretty impressed with its straight line capabilities...

Mark my words I'll be in the high 11's or very close by spring time...
Does any one know the top speed for each gear on a 6MT (to lazy to search on a Black Berry)

im 6spd btw...
those numbers dont exactly match my portable GPS numbers tho... because i got into 6th and pulled a couple more hundred rpms......
but i do have 18s...
and yea.. i duno if u will be hitting 11s.... 12.7 is a far way away.... and this car wont really be to easy to make it go faster... your 60 wasnt terrible either...
nice run! next time try to get someone to video tape it
KINGLEH wroteI cut a 11.8 @116 on my 350Z, So with some bolt ons I think I can get 2 more mph... So the trap speed is there for 11's, I just need to luanch and cut a nice 1.6 with some dr's and I think its there. For every -.1 at the 60' equals "usually" -.2 at the traps so in theory I cut -.4 off my 60' for a 1.6 60' that "should" but we will see be -.8 at the end for a 11.9 in stock form.. "Yeah right" give me some time guys to figure out and I will deliver...dang... i knew i was going fast when i get into the rev limit into 5th....

eagletangogreen wroteIt really doesn't work like that. I improved my 60 foot by .2 and gained .1 in the 1/4. I think a 1.6 60' is REALLY optimistic. I have never seen an M3 cut a 60' like that.

I shifted to 4th right before the traps thats about .2 for shift time..
My Dr's are a little bigger than a 19" stock with tires so if I can stay in 3rd as I pass the traps (for bigger diameter tires longer gears), it would save me the shift time.. bring my time down to 12.5 (in theory) the rest is bettering my shitty 60' into the 1.7 1.6 and walla 11.9 N/A.
Once again this car is pretty bad ass to be able to do everything so good.
Cheers
Guys, I am still lose with the whole 60ft time and speed being different to the normal figures of acceleration.
Don't figure to me?
Also, I thought the iphone software was meant to be good, is this now wrong?

lucid wroteI thought our M3's weighted at 3700LBS. I'm happy to hear that it weighs at 3500lbs. What options do you have?I think so. I weighed mine with a little over half a tank at the track @3495. (That was before I removed the rear seat for people who know I did that btw).

ArsenalFC wroteI have tech and premium packages, leather, heated seats, CF roof, and stock 19" wheels. When I weighed it at the track, I had removed stuff from the trunk like the mobility kit and floor board, tool kit, etc, which probably amount to 17-18 lbs total.I thought our M3's weighted at 3700LBS. 6MT with full tank of gas should weigh about 3570 lbs. I think DCT adds another 40-50lbs, but I can't recollect the exact figure.
