Hi, i am close to purchasing an Akrapovic x-pipe, and am thinking of using it in conjuction with my Eisenman race, but am worried that this sill make it toooo loud. I could sell the muffler and return to stock muffler plus the x-pipe (As i can't afford the full system).
Would there be any point in this?
If not is there another choice?
In my opinion there is no reason to buy an Akrapovic x-pipe alone, difference will be minimal at best between it and the other xpipes on the market. I'd only spend the extra money if you were going for the full Akra system.

hmmm wher you look at the stats the Akra muffler alone only gives a few hp, but with the x-pipe hp gains are big, which leads me to think that its the pipe that makes the biggest gains, so why shoudl i bother paying $3000ish for the muffler, what makes the combination so much better?
SUreley the Akra x-pip with any muffler is as good?
The weight is an important consideration for the muffler. I believe Akrapovic has the lightest muffler/x-pipe system in the market.

Yea, x-pipe is where you find the gains..... I was referring to Akra's vs. others. No reason to spend extra on an Akra xpipe if that's the only part of the Akra system you're buying

Your prob right but I'd love to see some dynes. Not all sport cats are created equal and each company seems to be using different ones.

What are you running? Any problems with nys inspection?
Most system are the same ... some may be lighter then others due to it being Ti and Stainless. Some X-pipes may make more HP depending on what type of cats they use.

I've only noticed Gintani using a different method of X-pipe. They put the X closer to the front of that car where the first bends are.

I'm running a full Ericcson system ... I'll be doing a change to Gintani's X-pipe next week.

I'm currently running the Fabspeed setup with their HFC's

I started a thread awhile back about my inspection story:

Love my Akra slip-on. Deeper and a little louder without drone.
No, there is nothing better.
There are cheaper choices. But if you look at the Akra parts up close you'll see that it's unlikely that anyone makes a better quality piece.
